Everyone who knows vodka knows that the best vodka comes from the Ukraine.

Speaking as a russkiy, I heartily recommend stolichnaya crystall as the best semi-cheap vodka. Of course, it pains me that both of my favorites, Ketel One and Grey Goose, are not from the motherland

At least they aren't importing Mr. Boston vodak.

Do the Scots, import Scotch?

AuCinaoaMie 2009-01-25 02:57:32 PM
Why wouldnt they import something they make? If it is good enough for the USA, Britain, and Canada, it should be good enough for the Russians.

I dont remember the name of the stuff I drank with the Russians in Korea, but damn it was the only vodka that could put a buzz on me.

Importing vodka to Russia - talk about a bottomless pit of sales. How do I get me a piece of that money action?

Cheapest handle of vodka from grocery store + Brita pitcher. Repeat to taste.

Finally!

On another note, has anyone had this before:

www.badgerwest.com

It comes in a plastic bottle, and it tastes like rubbing alcohol. Disgusting!

If you got lemons and vodka, make limoncello here.

I understand it's delicious but made for sipping.

Yeah that's weird. I remember when they proved that theory on Mythbusters.

Guy at the local liquor store recommended a Polish potato vodka called Luksusowa. As we were talking about it a guy walked up and bought a bottle. I was sold after that.

I'm not fond of Nordic vodkas for straight drinking. I prefer the more flavourful Slavic vodkas, especially the Polish potato vodkas.

That was Benzin, comrade. Freshly squeezed from a BREM-L for your enjoyment.

I'm pretty much a Stoli guy, Stoli Black (Cristal) when I can afford it. When I'm on a budget I find Skyy goes down very smooth, only 36.99 for a handle at my overpriced nyc corner liquor store.

Whatever you do, don't try that Tito's slop made in Austin. They advertise all kinds of awards they won but it tasted like distilled ass.

Luksusowa is excellent vodka, well worth it.

vodka 2009-01-25 03:17:09 PM
Lately I have been drinking Gordon's vodka and I have to admit that is some of the cleanest vodka I have ever had, especially for a cheaper brand. Weird that I never tried it in all these years.

Best all around vodka = Tito's

Best for shooters = Quadro.

/pours another

Is there really a difference between different Vodkas? Aren't they all distilled spirits, meaning it's ethanol and water and basically nothing else (which is why it's clear)?

Stoli Crystal is semi-cheap? $30 a 750ml here. I'd rather have Ciroc or Ketel One.

I used to love it... Black Cherry Vanilla (black label on same bottle). But during a football game back in 07 I was doing shots of it and woke up sick as a dog and with one of the worse hangovers ever. Haven't had it since. Might try it again.

Vodka is supposed to be smooth and tasteless (for drinking it straight). Some Vodkas have a bitter aftertaste (I am looking at you Absalute), which means that they have impurities. Generally, the smoother the vodka, the better you'll feel in the morning.

Meh. I've barely touched the bottle in my freezer. Definitely better than a great deal of common vodkas, but I can't use it for a Screwdriver.

Don't do shots of flavoured vodka... Shots should have no taste.

Most premium vodkas taste like shiat and are only favored by young folks who are just a few years past their Boone's Farm stage of adolescence.
