If there's anything the internet has taught me, it's that shoving things up one's ass is a key skill secretaries should possess.

Criticizing someone's abilities in front of other people is a great way to get punched in the throat.

"Later, they made a motion to send Smith an official "no trespassing on borough property" notice, adding that arrangements would be made for her to collect personal belongings, under proper supervision."

And this...

"The no trespassing notice could be a problem, since Smith also serves as secretary for the York Springs Municipal Authority, and will not be allowed into the office to conduct authority business, nor to collect water bills."

What a bunch of asshats. I hope she sues, borough property is by law public property and she should be entitled to have a fair hearing before being told she can not access public property. And the fact that they appear to have done this because they knew it would jeopardize her other job shows that they are acting in malice and not because they fear for any sort of safety.

After reading the article, I can totally understand why she would act out in such a manner, I'm sure this is just the latest in a long line of bullshiat she's had to put up with from these petty little powermongers.

So, she's a secretary who doesn't make agendas and doesn't take minutes. I think that qualifies as not doing her job.

As they seem to be backing her up, I really hope it turns out her other employer turns out to be the deed holder on the building and kicks the other group the out of the space.

After being told a second time she was not doing her job as secretary...

Council members accepted her resignation, unanimously.

Although he believes there was a conflict with the secretary...

He said council members had discussed providing additional training for their secretary...

Looks to me like she was a problem employee. Worked with a few and have accepted resignations with a sigh of relief as well. Stupid biatch.

We had a secretary who wouldn't take notes. It wasn't in her job description was her reply. It wasn't but "other duties as required" was. Management forced her to take minutes, she said no and filed a complaint with HR. I even offered to buy her lunch so she could eat during the meeting, still no.

/she's getting the ax in the morning
//that should be fun

She wasn't an employee, she was a member of the borough council who held the office of Secretary. Sounds more like a cat fight between her and the Office of the Acting President.

Acting President Julia Harris accused Smith of not knowing how to do her job..

Politics is for assholes, and it sounds like this girl learned it about 15 minutes into the meeting. As said above, the no trespassing warning is the giveaway that the board were just being pricks. It's their little way of showing dominance over her, by insulting her one more time even though she's walked out the door.

It does sound like she has the essentials down.

Just picturing the guy who had to find the notebook saying, "So, uh, do I write down 'shove it up your ass' just like that?"

Even if she had problems, you don't air out your personnel matters in a meeting like that. It just begs for lawsuits.

Sounds like there was more than a question of competence here. It sounds like there were some personal conflicts going on.
