Insisting on doing a transaction over Western Union is starting to ring a few bells, especially when there are alternative (and traceable, and recoverable) alternative methods of sending money to another person.

I'm in the middle of farking with one of those scammers. I got a fake email account and a free online voice mail/fax that emails the faxes/voicemails to my gmail account. This shiat is going to be fun.

No.

1. Fake IDs aren't very hard to make.
2. Western Union doesn't require the person picking up to have the right name, IIRC.

Western Union has a way of sending money to people that have had their ID stolen (which I'm sure would have been part of the story). The two parties just have to agree on a password.

They're not just in email anymore. I had one find me on Yahoo messenger and try to convince me to buy things in the US and send them to his kids in Nigeria. Since he was a multi-national executive and in Japan, he couldn't buy computers and clothes. Apparently the Japanese are very backwards when it comes to technology and fashion. He promised to pay me back.

I give him points for the creativity.

When I told him I was a poor student, he didn't seem to believe that any Americans want for anything. He assumed that all Americans are rich and can buy anything we want so what was a few thousand dollars to me. This is where the mentality of scamming and stealing comes in.

I've responded to these just to toy with them and make them show up at some western union outlet to pick up non existent money. I'd even pick the address where I sent it to see if they'd bite (full well knowing there are a myriad of ways to "pick up" your WU money).
