What I found out and uber-doucheish is how they made sure all the tip amounts were in there.

For a 7 carat princess cut diamond (looks like it from the picture) to cost anywhere less than $100k, you'd probably have to have some very serious inclusions (think I1 or worse), and/or a color grade of J or worse.

You would think that if you can afford a 78k ring, you could afford to pay a little extra to get the thing sized so it didn't fall off.

hell, for that matter, for 78k, I want the thing sized for free.

A good seven carat diamond runs you $200k. A really good one could be 350k+. A colleague of mine got a near 3 carat, $80k ring when she got engaged. The good ones are not cheap.

When I was a teenager with my first job, I bought a pretty amethyst ring. I was so proud of it. Then I closed my hand, ring and all, in a tricky door at work. Scratched the hell out of the top of the stone. I was so sad. Still am, because that ring meant a lot to me. First job, my own money, etc.
