In preparation for this thread, I GIS'ed for an image showing Fry's dirty room from "How Hermes Got His Groove Back." I didn't find anything useful, and unfortunately ran across a lot of amateur Futurama porn. Can you guys stop drawing that stuff? The quality is very poor and it's gross. Thanks a bunch.

Wait... someone complained in 2005 of a rat problem, and because of legal guff, the city council is only now able to address the problem. Ugh. I thought things were bad with the lawsuit mania here.

I'm amazed that they couldn't enter to investigate under some sort of "probable cause" mechanism when the public health is at stake. What would it have taken to get in there sooner - rotting pig carcasses hanging off the roof, or something?

cksewell [TotalFark] 2009-01-24 05:55:16 PM
If he doesn't pay the $55K does he get his stuff back?

Does the United States do things like this? I have some asshat neighbors who have several truckloads of trash in their back yard and I imagine their house is the same way (in fact, I think the interior of their house probably resembles the lotion-guy's bathroom from Silence of the Lambs). No doubt it's a health hazard and my other neighbors and ourselves have experienced difficulty with rats (and mosquitos). The people are also on disability but have worked on/off for the past 3 years... I would notify OSSA but I'm not that vindictive.

AuCinaoaMie 2009-01-24 06:53:12 PM
One man's trash is another mans tetanus shot. At least you cant see the piles of detritus in my yard, partially due to the snow cover, and partially due to the cars on blocks.

gorfie: Does the United States do things like this?

Rarely, I think. It's a difficult thing to get someone declared mentally incompetent and really, there's such emotional and geographic disconnect among family members that very often people haven't the faintest notion what's going on with Aunt Ethel.

Property rights are a whole other can of worms - unless the hoarder is a tenant who can be evicted, it's highly unusual for city or county code enforcement to get involved. People are quite good at hiding it, too, I think. Then there are those who suggest it's a disability and therefore services should be put in place to try to help the hoarder rather than any legal action taken.

Like crime scene cleanup, it's a booming business, though. :P

Oh, cool, I was hoping someone would comment 'cause it's been way too long for me... Tell me of this Ion. I haven't really been involved since I changed out to the Flatline, back when it was almost new.

e-trigger
You can "walk" the trigger, which means you can use two fingers to fire , greatly increasing how many paintballs you can fire. But I'm still kinda new.

Ahhhhh, trigger mod, I get ya. Yeah, mine's just a double trigger with the guard cut out to make room for it. Oh, and Richard's using the old standard hopper, too, not even a Revolution ;)

And livin' in the bell tower like that, they got a lot of
room downstairs where the pews used to be in. Havin' all that room,
seein' as how they took out all the pews, they decided that they didn't have to take out their garbage for a long time.
