That should surely endear him to the masses.

He has gone insane and this is going to be hilariouos. And then he's going to jail.

Seriously, it's becoming the weirdest stuff I've ever seen from an elected official not named R. Budd Dwyer.

It made perfect sense to me inasmuch as they are both innocent of any crime.

Because Drew Peterson's image as a serial wife murderer isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think of him.

Makes you think, if his PR firm isn't out of business, they must be doing a damn good job of covering up something way worse.

This story has been nothing but a series of "and then it gets weird"s.

I think he hired Sports by Brooks also.

Like the bodies of the men those wives were sleeping with?

He can spend his money any way he wants to. Last I heard, he'd discovered a gold mine, so he should have lots to toss around.

It's performance art at this point. I'm waiting for the candid camera crew to jump out and tells us it's all been a joke.

Your Governor really isn't insane. You got PUNK'D!

Actually the Chicago FBI Field Office still considers Peterson as having done it, they just can't get that one piece of evidence. It all adds up to him doing it, but they can't prove enough of it for a court case.

His cowboy analogy was pure dadaist genius. Republicans may be better at corruption, but no one is more entertaining at it than a Democrat.

Seriously...can this guy get any more brash and/or retarded??

The freaking FBI has him, personally, on tape trying to sell the Senate seat, along with other BS pay-to-play schemes, and he's still playing innocent.

His lead defense attorney, the guy who got R. Kelly off in what was thought to be an airtight case, just ditched him because he refused to listen to his advice.

If this isn't the fastest impeachment hearing then I don't know what would do it.

And that last time I checked it was still innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. I struggle to grasp what you don't understand about that concept.

You're right, but sometimes it's just a formality. The court of public opinion has made its verdict. Blago's political life is over, whether he's convicted or not.

Yeah, he may not be technically guilty of anything, but in politics the court of public opinions is as or maybe more important than the court of law.

The thing about this guy that's scary is how oblivious he is. He walks and talks among us, but he doesn't perceive the reality in front of him. And he was given a lot of power. Wow.

Tigger: He has gone insane and this is going to be hilariouos. And then he's going to jail.

You say that as if Governor Helmet-hair hadn't already gone off the deep end.

You know, I look at Blago threads and wonder if I should feel bad for mocking a guy that may actually be mentally ill. Then I realize that even if he is ill, he is so farking hilarious it's kind of amazing (and not in the scary "Britney shaves her head and attacks a paparazzo's SUV with an umbrella leaving hugeass dents" way).

That said:

xuanzhiyouxuan - Where'd you get that picture? God, maybe it's just because it's a closeup, but he looks like hell.

It seems to be the main pic used in news reports where they need to show him as embattled or under siege

I've been a bit Blago-underdosed recently, but...Jesus, he looks worse than I thought.

If I was Drew Peterson, I'd be embarrassed by this.

Maybe he figures that he's going down no matter what he does, and he might as well amuse himself by making a crazy circus of it.

RemyDuron: court of public opinions

I'm not so sure he should be worried about his political career anymore. He should be watching out for his cornhole. If he did step down, that could be considered an admission of guilt. His retarded denials and refusal to step down may have some bizarre legal motive.

I would think the first thing a respectable PR company would do is tell Blago not to use a PR company that Drew Peterson used.

Actually, he did find work so quickly... as defensive coach for the Bears.

So, Blago would just be keeping him instate anyway.

And hey, Drew Peterson is still not in jail, and just had his fiance move in with him, so, the PR firm must be doing something right.
