When is the GOP going to straighten up and change their party platform from:

1) Tax cuts!
2) The entire opposite of whatever the Democrats are doing.

They do nothing but spew smears and attempt to be obstructionist and they rarely ever offer any alternative ideas, and when they do they tend to be the same tired old shiat that got us here in the first place.

Dear GOP: New ideas, please get some.

While I agree with you, mostly, tax cuts aren't a bad idea in order to encourage growth. It's just a matter of how you do it. Trimming a small percentage off, say, social security tax, something that will put twenty or thirty dollars in everyones pocket each month, is better than tax slashing.

Give a guy thirty extra bucks, he's gonna spend it.

Give a guy two hundred extra, he's probably gonna save it, which does nothing for the economy.

"Thanks to Republican economic policies, the U.S. economy is robust and job creation is strong."

Highest unemployment rate in 15 years!
Negative GDP growth.
Record foreclosures.
Bank failures.
Enron.
Energy speculation...

the list goes on and on and on...

I am now convinced that Republicans are just really really stupid, ignorant and delusional. It is simply NOT debatable.

The most irritating thing about the Republican party right now, is that they idolize Reagan and Friedman, and in the same breath say that spending money to get out of a recession is a bad idea.

Cognitive dissonance anyone?

I'd actually like to see a study on spending behaviors of people when given different amounts of money.

Cyborg77 2009-01-23 06:45:10 PM
For even more fail, Conservopedia's entry on B. Hussein Obama:

Obama has espoused the socialist idea of "spreading the wealth," in other words raising the tax rates on business and the wealthy to a burdensome level in order to redistribute their income to low income individuals, many of whom don't currently pay income taxes. His health care plan forces employers to purchase health care or pay a fine and will force many into a poorly run single payer system. To announce his trip to Berlin in July 2008, Obama used posters which show a marked similarity to posters of Lenin. During Obama's youth in Hawaii, he developed a strong, almost Father/Son relationship with Frank Marshall Davis, a known Communist.

You missed

3) Torture is not only legal, not only necessary for national security, but it's fun and builds character too! Torture for everyone!
4) Teh Gheys are evil and want to turn your children into sex slaves.
5) Those elitist big-city types look down their noses at us wholesome, moral, and hard-working people here in Real America, you betcha!
6) Did I mention Teh Gheys? And how they're evil and want to ban your religion and make sodomy a mandatory class in public kindergartens?
7) It is the duty of America to spread freedom and democracy throughout the world of repressive, terrorist-supporting regimes with awful records on human rights. Pay no attention to Saudi Arabia.
8) Teh Gheys are gonna getcha, you betcha! Look out for them, they're evil.
9) Oh yeah, abortion, too. Killing babies isn't as evil as Teh Ghey, but it's still kinda evil. We should ban it, once we're done with Teh Gheys.

Ladies and gentlmen, I give you the 2012 GOP platform.

I'm curious where you get that. The site's news pages are all stories from yesterday. The site's blogs are all current. The site's most recent press release is from Jan 21st. Their lists of who's who in Congress are up to date from the 2008 elections.

There's no link to it on their web page, you have to enter the full URL to find it. That page has ID=47. Take a look at the page with ID=48, talks about the House passing an energy bill - the Gasoline for America's Security (GAS) Act. That was in 2005.

Obviously it's sitting in an archive somewhere, pulling it up now is like holding up a three year old newspaper and claiming it's today's news.

Agreed. But its pretty bush league to just comment out the links and leave the pages up. Just saying. So if I go to the comment out code and go to the contained link:

Boeing gives the notices on the 30th, but they told all the employees about the impending layoffs yesterday so they could have something to worry about in the interim.
