Obama wants to bring terrorists to YOUR back yard.

Yada yada.

/ Well, actually, Shrub wanted to - since that's the only way Guantanamo was ever going to end. But Fox didn't say that, for some reason.

I love it. The "conservative" movement doesn't get that their whole shtick was utterly rejected in November and they need to find new ways to connect with voters. Instead, they're just getting nuttier.

And, by the way, what Limbaugh said in that clip is far more offensive than what Imus said, and probably far more worthy of being fired over.

FlashHarry [TotalFark] 2009-01-23 02:24:12 PM

I can't believe Limbaugh has so many Dittohead followers. He says he WANTS this administration to FAIL, and you just know there are 20 million ignorant fans nodding in agreement. That's a sad slice of America.

I don't recall liberals ever saying something similar about Bush. Actually, quite the opposite; while we had little faith in him, we wanted his policies to work, we wanted some success for America, and we were continually frustrated that Bush failed in almost every way possible.

Limbaugh is astoundingly bitter that the Good Ol' Boys got run out of town. I think his biggest fear is that Obama WILL succeed an ultimately prove that the Bush administration's actions and policies were wrong for America all along.

Yeah. as much as they bleated that dissent was treason, I never actually heard a democrat or a liberal say they wanted the US to fail. Plenty of times I heard them say they thought it would fail, but that's obviously different.

The "they" there I mean Republicans. It's probably obvious, but I read it and thought it was poorly worded.

Does anybody still care what that bloated Oxy-pig has to say? After his SECOND drug arrest anyone with common sense would see Mr. Lamebrain for what he really is: A fat, loudmouth hypocrite. As for the rest of Fox "News," well they should bill themselves as a 24/7 editorial channel.

What he said about Donovan McNabb was more offensive**. Of course, he's about the only person to use race-baiting who has been fired from ESPN. It's okay when others do it.

**note: his statement would've been 100% correct had he been talking about Michael Vick... McNabb is a good QB when you don't need him to do anything in the clutch during big games

Kordell Stewart would have been a better example. It was too long ago for Michael Vick to really have been noticed.

I refrain from cruising through Fox News stories for Fark submissions for two reasons:

1) I hate Fox News.

2) I won't contribute to their advertising revenues by visiting them and/or linking to their websites.

I understand Fox veers right and has to pander to its core group; but are the only other alternatives CNN and MSNBC showing silhouettes of the Messiah with inspiring music and "The First 100 Days" propaganda? Is there any centrist news organization that can report on the Obama administration without too much bias? There is some interesting/concerning stuff going on that all the channels are either covering up or blowing out of proportion.

I know that's a tall order, so I'm not going to add my request that they cover news outside of the 68 sq. miles that is DC.

I remember watching that live and when it happened, my jaw nearly hit the floor. I was already pissed and dumbfounded why they had that fat blowhard on NFL Gameday at all, but that was just unbelievable. I can't believe Tom Jackson didn't go all Terry Tate on his fat ass. The look on Irvin's and Jackson's face was priceless. They were stonefaced, like "did this numbnuts just say what I think he said?" I'm just glad he did it so early in the season so I didn't have to put up with his blathering vomit the rest of the season.

I understand what you're saying, I really do. But consider, for a moment, that "centrist" is still a political position and ideology, just like "left wing" and "right wing". The confusing of "centrist" journalism for objective journalism is part of the reason Bush got away with as much as he did.

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2009-01-23 03:15:59 PM
wow - O'Reilly got completely pwned on that one. But Limbaugh in meltdown mode isn't a surprise. I was listening to the Limbaugh show during the inauguration and the guy was a twitching, drooling wreck by 3pm east coast time. Seriously folks - go and listen to the limbaugh show on monday. It is well worth the effort if you listen to him with the expectation of hearing a grown man break down into tears and cry like a baby!

Haha. Yeah!!

It's funny, I still don't think this counts as treason, or is even really all that terrible. It just makes me laugh that a whole segment of the population went absolutely nutso about people criticizing the President for 8 years, and in one day they've actually gone above and beyond anything the left wing did in that time.

If you get it on cable, check out the BBC News channel. They seem a lot more interested in straight reporting than sensationalism.
