FTA:Wisconsin has three residents in the running so far to be recommended as the White House farmer, if President Obama decides to create that position.

Reading comprehension 101 subby. There is no White House farmer.

A nice watermelon patch out back would come in handy though.

A re-election Jimmy Carter could actually win.

BergZ 2009-01-23 12:47:03 PM
Huh. What a bunch of elitists. Not a single "Joe the Farmer" on the nominees list. Who, if not "Joe the ____", will speak for the people?

Queen Dalek 2009-01-23 12:49:11 PM
I say we all vote Stephen Colbert!!!

"But daaaaad, I don't want anymore peanuts!"

"Now Sasha, President Carter worked really hard to grow them. Now say thank you for his delicious nuts."

I voted for Grant Corley, just because the idea of buying a farm at age 16 appealed to me. Then I found out he only has one vote. Boooooooooooooo! Farkers unite for Grant Corley!

or not. whatever.

Not sure if you're cynical or not, but yes, yes they should. Between the droughts in the CA central valley, and the farmers unable to get credit, a lot of people should.

I'm white, but, y'know, both are tasty and pretty easy to grow/raise. If you wanted in for the trifecta, collard greens are also pretty easy to grow (if you live in the US South, like DC), and are a helluva lot more nutritious than what most people eat.

My fellow Americans (and international farkers):
It is with great respect and honor that a humbly place my name in the running for White House farmer. If elected to this esteemed position, I promise a chicken in every pot, a steak on every grill, a home brewed beer in every fridge, and bag of the best Rose Garden-grown sticky icky in every toilet tank. Thank you, and god bless America!

Not cynical on this one. I think it would set a good example for the country.

How many friggin positions is this asstard of a president going to make. Geez he made The Office of the President Elect which is just a monument to the size of that mans ego. I can't wait til 2012 when all the people drinking the kool aid now wake up and say "What the hell was I thinking?"
