Somebody tell this douche nozzle that his due process is limited because he is only losing his job, not his life or liberty. He'll have plenty of time to mount a thorough defense when the feds actually prosecute him.

Having read TFA, it does sound like he is being treated unfairly. On the other hand, there probably isn't any legal obligation to hold a fair trial. The U.S. Supreme Court split 5-4 on the question of what standard courts should use in challenges to federal impeachment proceedings. The majority, IIRC, ruled that courts could never intervene. The minority ruled that courts might consider intervening if there was no actual accusation of wrongdoing. Nobody voted for judicial review of impeachment on the grounds of mere unfairness.
