I went to his bottle signing here a couple weeks ago. Good wine too!

His Caduceus^ website is worth a visit.

Not really worthy of a strange tag, subby. He has been doing the vino/food thing for a while now so this makes sense. He has his own vineyard (as noted above by Godscrack) and I'm pretty sure he is owner of a restaurant here in Arizona Bay.

This is about as lame as Dave Mustaine & Charlie Benante coffee blends.

/no, thats not a joke.

Didnt he leave APC and now they are going to have a female singer (the initial plan or something)? And hasnt he had a vineyard for a while now?

I like TOOL.

Yeah, Subby? And what of it? I belong to a wine making club. We do over 500 gallons a year, and I do another 100 with a few freinds on the side. It is an ART, and a damn fine one at that. Culture is cool, and this is just another facet which increases my respect for Maynard. REAL men have many skills and interests.

Maynard's Caduceus collection is great. Nagual de lat Naga is outstanding.

As much as I do like Tool, if he quit his dayjob, I wouldn't mind.

Gangway Fathead Sounds like a great life.

Sums it up right there. Maynard shows no signs of slowing down. Career in music, platinum selling records, family man, and even if the bands and music go away (I hope not), he has his wine business to gracefully grow old with.

A great life indeed.

I thought he turned water into piss not wine?

/loves me some Tool

He's not selling carrots is he? Because that would be murder.

MJK is of the weirdest, coolest motherfarkers out there ... and TOOL was probably one of the best concerts i've seen, visually.

Well now I've got some
Advice for you, little buddy.
Before you point the finger
You should know that
I'm the man,

And if I'm the man,

Then you're the man, and
He's the man as well so you can
Point that farkin' finger up your ass.

JerkyMeat 2009-01-22 11:47:02 PM
He should just open up a booth and charge you five bucks to yell at you for 2 minutes.

Heh, turns out Les Claypool of Primus is getting into this as well. Claypool Cellars, featuring "Purple Pachyderm" 2007 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (new window)

/This was the point where I officially declared that I have sent Les too much money over the years.
//Will probably buy a bottle at some point for the hell of it.

Wait.. organic produce? Nevermind.

As a former Tool fan, there is hope. You don't have to keep listening to mediocre music your whole life. You can escape!

Wine that comes from a hose sticking out from under a guy's apron?

I didn't know they called it that these days.

;)

2and4 2009-01-23 04:14:12 AM
Sounds like a great life indeed.

But I will say this, when you have his kind of money, it becomes easier to own a restaurant, trade produce, and make wine. You become more of a manager at that point, though I'm sure he steps on a few grapes for fun from time to time.

He is a talented and driven guy, that's for sure.

Sherjo311 2009-01-23 04:21:58 AM
when you only tour based around the farming season of your privately owned vineyard and the record company can't do shiat about it...

you have pretty much made it man.

Unlike Geddy Lee, who only drinks it...

I don't know what those hangin' things are, but it looks more like you're making bologna or salami than wine.

i smell some bitterness.
-the guy is loaded.
-his bands are all pretty successful
-he stays out of the limelight and isn't a total press whore
-he can do whatever the fark he wants and doesn't live in his mommas basement.

/talented bright individual
//most are bitter untalented individuals
///most can't make their own wine, music or ........oh nevermind

Heaven forbid a singer/musician should have any outside interests. What's this world coming to?

NorCalLos 2009-01-23 06:01:12 PM
Dude looks differnt. I've seen Tool and APC, and that is not the guy I remember seeing. It's interesting how celebrities get better looking and healthier as they age, while I just get fatter, balder, and hairier.

Mangoose 2009-01-23 10:01:03 PM
Depending on how deep into the process you want to get, anyone can make wine. It becomes a harder if you want to own the land or process the grapes from the start. But, I had a friend who hired Mark Aubert to make him some Chardonnay and his cost was around 15 per bottle.

MikeyistheDevil 2009-01-24 12:58:57 PM
He's been producing some quality wines for a few years now. His Chupacabra is really good.
