Eh..I'm not a huge fan of the RHCP, but Flea is a very competent and versatile musician. I'm sure he'll work out just fine. Besides, he's just side-mousing, so I doubt he'll come out wearing nothing but a sock and a football helmet...

Honestly, it sounds like it might be great.

I always thought it was funny that a couple of guys as homely as Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood called their band "The Faces." Though, there's always been that rumor that Elton John, Rod Stewart and Freddie Mercury were at one point going to start a side project called, "Hair, Nose and Teeth," but they could never get it off the ground...Because they couldn't agree on the billing order. So maybe it was meant to be ironic.

At least they dropped the "Small" which, given the gargantuan proportions of some of their features, would have been even funnier.

It will definitely breath some life in to the project, but Ronnie is no slouch on bass; would be interesting to hear the difference between the two. I know, it doesnt work that way.

One night at work (a busy bar), someone had brought up Rod Stewart for whatever reason. For equally forgotten reasons I launched into a loud diatribe about how much he sucks and that the world would be better off if he just died, perhaps leaving a copy of "Stay With Me" as a rare evidence of rock and/or roll. For some reason everyone in front of me appeared mortified and as though the blood had drained from their faces. Sure enough, behind me the entire time was...Rod Stewart. I had been tipped into my rant by overhearing the "Rod Stewart" part of the conversation but missing the "is over there and needs a dry Manhattan" part. Since I was working behind the bar, I couldn't just slink away like every fiber in my body yearned to at that moment. I couldn't apologize because that would entail admitting guilt when I still wasn't sure that he had heard me, or seen me throwing my hands to the sky to further illustrate, in case my words were inadequate, just how badly he sucked. Basically, I just moped around for about an hour until the whole mess was over.

Left a great tip, though. Unusual from famous people to begin with, let alone to some guy who had just an hour before decried you as the divining rod of all things Suck.

the small faces were so called because they were all small, and 'faces' was a mod word for someone known in mod circles, as cool. The faces was formed when 3 small faces mixed with other musicians from the area after the SFs split. Not really a name change, more a new band.
I've met ronnie, rod and flea, mainly mad ronnie though, he's a top nut case.

never got into the Faces. i think i'll listen to ANIAGAAWTABH right now and see if it jibes with me.

Flea is a competent bassist, professional and a good egg - I'm sure he'll breathe new life into The Faces' stalwart catalog of tunes.
