Policy-makers at the highest level even entertaining this notion is far more frightening than the rantings of random people on the internet.

You can certainly make an economic argument (not an overwhelmingly convincing one, but defensible) that some of the stimulus funds should end up going to people who are lower down on the income scale, especially those who have been for a long time (e.g., not someone recently laid-off from a good job). Had he just said that, no one would much care, apart from hardcore class-warriors and economics junkies.

But nooooo, he just had to go drag race and sex into it, thus guaranteeing this becomes a sizable controversy.

The average black citizen now sees that their opportunities are endless in the country, but too many black Democratic Party leaders have made their fortunes on race baiting. The Democratic Party has kept their stronghold on the black populous with largely racist policies that do more harm than good in the long run. The Democrats would gladly give someone a fish everyday instead of teaching them how to fish. I've worked in construction, I've done landscaping, I've worked in a convienience store. Jobs seen as below some people. I've never asked for assistance for ANYTHING. And never expected anything beyond recieving a paycheck or a pink-slip on thursday or friday.

Fark anyone, ANYONE, who wants something for nothing. I don't make a lot of money, but I survive. I say pay those bridge builders and let them buy shiat from the convienience store on their way to work. And get a few beers after work at the local watering hole. Let those who don't want to work in either of those three (or any of the many, many more created by infrastructure improvement) suffer.

you are assuming that there are jobs to be gotten. the problem in a lot of poor neighborhoods is that there aren't enough jobs available.

You're right, I should not have used black. I was refering to Rangel and the majority of his constituancy, but the same can be said for any lazy, non-productive people. Fark them all. If I lose my job, I'm going to take the first thing that comes along, no matter how 'degrading' it is. It pays the bills until I can find somethign I like better.

My problem is not with black people, it's with lazy people, which I often use the "n"-word to describe, regardless of color.
