I want this badly. With that level of detail I would buy a Dick Cheney action figure as well.

Cheney may suck at karaoke, but who's going to tell him, and risk getting fried by those lighting bolts that shoot out of his fingers?

/I'd buy a Cheney action doll if it had that feature.

No. At least, not necessarily. I'm left-handed and I've never worn my watch on my right wrist.

Also, GIS indicates he normally wears it on his left wrist.

Obama doesn't need a lightsaber and a shotgun to fight evil. He has an army of millions, backed up by "the right side of history". That should be enough.

/personally though, I might pack the lightsaber just in case

NYZooMan: Hi-i-i-gh hopes, they've got hi-i-i-gh hopes...

...and today is the day when NYZooMan tries to use a cultural reference to indicate that, once again, all he sees are people saying "hope". Using a song where the ant that had high hopes found a way to move the rubber tree plant.

Probably with the use of millions of other ants that did the ant equivalent of rolling up their sleeves and doing something, instead of biatching like a whiny little girl.

You'll also remember that, in the song, a ram takes down a billion-kilowatt dam. Unlike the failed deregulated power companies in California (who took the dams off-line for "maintenance" in times of high demand in order to drive up demand even further (and thus drive up market prices where they WERE generating electricity, selling it back to the market where the "maintenance" took place).

But don't just take my word on that last one. A Nobel Prize winning economist describes it better than I just did. (^)

In summary: may I recommend you put some sugar in those sour grapes. Or if you're making the whine regardless, have some cheese with it.

It's supposed to be a free market. Why don't some 'rugged individualists' stop whining that someone else is (quite literally in this case) getting the coolest toys and make one themselves. Or pay someone else to have a Two-Term GWB Doll made for them.

That's what made this country great, you. People doing things that are insanely possible (instead of wondering if it should be merited).

And if there's a market for the GWB doll, they'd sell. You could make a killing in profit if there's a market for them and you get one rushed out.

You'll notice the word "if" appears a lot there. That's the beauty of the free-markets that Progressives and Liberals understand. It's not enough just to have blind faith in The Markets to make them work to your advantage. Our economy from 2001 - 2009 is testament and proof to that.

Possibly. Personally, I think the idea is ridiculous, no matter who it is. It's just someone seeing an opportunity to make $$$ on a popular figure. Whether we like it or not, millions like Bush, Coulter, Obama, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Clinton, JFK, etc, etc. Millions who will purchase a piece of plastic for the low low price of $29.95 (or whatever). It's just consumerism and celebrity worship at its finest. Or maybe they just want a voodoo doll.

But O'Reilly won a Peabody!!

In February of 2001, O'Reilly gave a speech seemingly taking credit for winning a coveted Peabody award while an anchor at the tabloid TV show Inside Edition. After comedian Al Franken pointed out that the show never won a Peabody, O'Reilly retorted, in Mamet-esque syntax (O'Reilly Factor, 3/13/01): "Guy says about me, couple of weeks ago, 'O'Reilly said he won a Peabody Award.' Never said it. You can't find a transcript where I said it."

But on his May 19, 2000 broadcast, he repeatedly told a guest who brought up his tabloid past: "We won Peabody Awards. . . . We won Peabody awards. . . . A program that wins a Peabody Award, the highest award in journalism, and you're going to denigrate it?" (Inside Edition won a Polk Award, not the better-known Peabody, for reporting that was done after O'Reilly left the show--Washington Post, 3/1/01.)

Oh, wait, he didn't. Sorry, my his bad.

Oh, so you admit you were criticizing the Obama doll?!? Because the weasel way you worded it, you just made it sound like Bush should merit one too (although you based your initial 'merit' statement on no criteria). So I was trying to help you define how Bush should currently merit one... but it turns out that wasn't your intent at all. You WERE just whining like a little girl.

It's nice you actually came out ans admitted it. But probably not intentionally.

But if you want to move those old [f]right[ened]-wing goalposts back, and you actually think one is merited (both for achievement and in the market), do something about it.

http://www.andgor.com/Personalized_Figures/personalized_figures.html

Have someone make some, and you can sell them, and let us know if they were warranted in the leading indicator in the world. Money.

Or we can assume that they're not currently merited.

See how easy it is when you cut through the weasel words and get right to the point?

A gun is available, but obtaining it requires undergoing a six-month long background check, submission of a permit application that may or may not be accepted (with non-refundable filing fee), submission of fingerprints to be stored on file and must be capable of accepting no more than ten rounds loaded at any one time. Additionally, the firearm must remain at your place of residence at all times and it must never be assembled into a working configuration for any reason.
