Was the previous version of "Chinese Democracy II" not so whiny?

Does that mean more Buckethead?

Some reports have indicated that the set will use the Blu-Ray format

Talk about a way to guarantee it'll be a commercial disaster.

Neil Young taking a heavy shiat (literally, not just releasing a mediocre album) is automatically better than whatever it is you could propose as actual good music.

I already have it all bootlegged already. Just release the bootleg versions on good sound quality and stop releasing crappy "newly recorded" versions of the same songs. I'm looking at you Chrome Dreams II.

Seriously, a lot of his unreleased songs are MUCH better than a lot of his official albums. If you can download the original "60 to 0," or the original "Ordinary People" they are truly awesome songs.

I just found a link to his entire discography in FLAC, so I'm getting a kick...

/skipped his 80's output
/best concert featuring one man and a chair EVAR

I didn't realize there was already a Chinese Democracy II.

I must have slept through that. Do I get another Dr Pepper?

I have Chrome Dreams I, and you don't. Neener neener.

Cue the die hard Neil Young fans who hang on his every word and quote that song from "On The Beach" about "pissin' in the wind" every chance they get.

I was at his dad's funeral a few years ago. Neil got so choked up he couldn't speak, picked up a guitar in front of his dad's ashes and said, "I can't speak but I can still do this," and sang three songs, including 'Far From Home.' I don't think there was a tear that remained untugged in that entire funeral home.

He was there with his wife Pegi, and the two of them looked after their severely handicapped son themselves - no minders, no nurses, no assistants, even though they could afford them. He's a class act, and I'd rather buy an CD of Neil clearing his throat than a studio album from just about any band you could name.

I went to The Bridge School show back in 01 (or 02)...Neil opened the set with a couple of songs...Came back later and played one of those songs AGAIN

Drugs are fun :)

This stuff is NEVER gonna get officially released.

And that's alright with me.

You mean "Ambulance Blues" ?
I love that song!!

i like to think of it as his "Desolation Row" and "Idiot Wind", in a way, both rolled into one song.

// "Walk On", "See the Sky About to Rain", "Revolution Blues", "On the Beach" and "Ambulance Blues" [from the "on the beach" album]
rank up there with his very best 70's work, IMHO.

Just because he loved his father and loves his kid to the nth degree doesn't change the fact he can't sing for shiat. If he had to sing for his supper, he'd be homeless.

Not this. Niel young is good because he inspired a lot of good music. You know, kind of how KISS is good because without them, we'd not have Whitezombie. Well, maybe we would because without KISS we'd still have Alice Cooper - and there is more Alice in White Zombie than there is KISS in White Zombie.

But I digress.

Niel Young? OK, you've made a huge, unmistable impact on Pearl Jam. And a lot of other musicians that are good have been inspired by you.

But I just don't see the draw. I can appreciate it, but his voice just gets to me, and his lyrics, I don't like them.

/do not want.

Yeah, yeah, when are you putting out a DVD of "Human Highway," Neil?!

//See for yourself.

I can not explain how totally retarded this statement is. I believe he does sing for supper and I believe he is pretty well off.
