You know who else thought of having a song to answer his call for public service?

These guys are rather unappreciated. Some great tunes they've put out.

They may not have been the most famous band ever, but they were naked and famous.

My thoughts exactly.

I thought they were chillin' in a dive bar somewhere with Soul Asylum, Sponge, and all the other most popular bands of 1996.

They broke up for a while, then reformed and have released two or three albums in the last few years.

Wow, Lump and Gump both rotated through my random (3200 songs) yesterday. Creepy that I should se a third PUSA......thing.

Chris Ballew is still the frontman and 2-string guitarist and Jason Finn still on drums (playing left handed on a right hand kit). Dave Dederer (3 string guitar) left some time ago and was replaced by Andrew McKeag.

I still keep their self titled in heavy rotation.

They were good at rocking for the sake of rocking.

Have most of their albums, through I recently sold Love Everybody on Amazon. Just never really liked it that much. Noticed they have one out last year, any good?

Woohoo, greenlight!

Saw these guys live three years ago at a UW event, they blew me away. The stage manager kept telling them to get off the stage because their set was done, and they'd say "Awesome bro!" and keep playing.

The Presidents of the USA were, and still are, awesome. They sing catchy tunes with clever lyrics that are mostly safe for 5 year olds.

/has two 5 year olds who love Dune Buggy and Peaches

I can't really compare it to anything after Pure Frosting, but I'd say it's worth picking up. French Girl, Sharpen Up Those Fangs, More Bad Times, Truckstop Butterfly, Ghosts are Everywhere, Loose Balloon, Poor Turtle are probably the songs to check out on it. French Girl REALLY should've been the single over Mixed Up S.O.B. I thought.

Their last album (released last year) is awesome.

They are just a great fun band. Nothing too serious or fancy, just good times. I got tickets for a NYE event with a different band, then was bummed to discover they were doing a show too. I'd much rather see them than...who was it?...Devotchka...they were ok...

Soul Asylum reformed and put another album out a year or two ago (with a different drummer or something, i believe.). but I kid you not: I saw a banner in Baltimore advertising a show for both Sponge and Spin Doctors... in 2002.

I just gotta love a band that had a song titled "We're Not Gonna Make It"

Yeah you can hate these guys but I saw them at an open festival in IL a few years ago and as many others have said they put on a great show. A ton of energy and they do love to get the crowd involved.

I really wish I could of heard the Subset project they did with Sir Mix A lot. Unfortunately it never saw daylight or leaked anywhere.

I heard a few tracks from the Subset recordings. It was farking amazing. Think Sir-Mix-A-Lot with Booker T and the MG's as his backing band....except with more attitude.

the Queens of the Stoneage?

Aside from the ties?
