It's crazy that they have the drummer from Evaline in Placebo, after all these years. They never really said why Steve left the band, either... he just did.

Great band, nice guys... I've seen them maybe 7 times, and they never disappoint. I didn't think "Meds" was a very good album, so here's hoping the new blood gives them some of what made them great back.

/"Without You I'm Nothing" is one of the best albums of the 1990s.

Placebo is a term used in the medical community. Sometimes it was argued that the mind could cure you so someone decided to give people fake pills to see if they got cured. If the pills work then the disease in question wasn't real, just psychosomatic. Placebo entered the mainstream lexicon to represent something that isn't real but might as well pass as the real thing, hence the joking headline.

i believe they gave the standard "creative differences" response. i think steve has a family, and he's been on the road a lot over the last few years. sometimes you need a break.

Meds was quite good and the singer had some sort of vocal chord issue the day they were supposed to play here in Omaha... I got a refund but I would have much preferred they just rescheduled... :(
