We had a guy like that around here. If you consider armed robbery a good deed anyway.

Why am I NOT surprised?

I don't think Rorschach would appreciate the comparison to the XFL. More likely this guy is inspired by....Stone Cold?

As a former high school wrestler, I almost cried. In real life, almost cried as well. Rourke can act.

FTA--He has designed a sweet new costume in his head for when he can get some money together. "I'm going to have a Kevlar tactical helmet, tactical goggles with custom lenses. Obviously I'm going to have a cape, body armor."

WTF? As it is currently written, this statement is a complete non-sequitur.

It never had a chance..Between the idiotic 'Cheerleader Locker Cams' and the fact that the guys didn't even have a chance to practice together, just killed what COULD have been a nice farm league for the NFL..and just maybe worth watching as well.

/the opening kick-off scrum was cool

The Fark grammar Nazis can no longer inspire me to pedantic greatness. Subby apparently needed slightly better inspiration for his headline: name was inspired by his love

It saddens me to have to be the first to point this out.

Cheers.

"San Diego police Capt. Chris Ball. But "you shouldn't be carrying weapons and you shouldn't be confronting people." "

WTF? Silly police Capt should know better and read the Constitution. He has a right to bear arms just like every other American. If he chooses to do so, as long as he is not threatening innocents, is his own business. If he breaks the law and brandishes a weapon for any purpose other than to defend himself, his property, or another, then he would be held responsible. Heck, by rights, he could walk around with a Glock on his belt too... though I'd STRONGLY advise against the mask at that point because then he'd be asking for trouble.

I've heard some amusing stories about people who deliberately "open-carry" a gun in a holster on their belt in Virginia, and how a cop will harass them and they get hauled into jail, and then the judge lectures the cop about the Constitution. Not sure what the judges in Cali would do... Probably feed the guy to a roaming band of hippies.

kronicfeld: Nonsense. No one "loved" the XFL.

If the XFL had started small, say on ESPN (remember, back in 2001, the WWL was nowhere near the juggernaut it is now) instead of NBC Primetime, it would have had a better chance.

Too many expecations, too much, too soon.

I liked the XFL, but I'm not really a football fan so I didn't know enough about "real" football (except for watching the Super Bowl and a playoff game or two each year) to see what the negativity was all about. The main thing I remember about XFL was the awesome camera angles and zooms they had. Plus, it was something new and different.

That said, I'm still not much of a football fan, so I was off doing other things after oohing and awwing at the first few XFL games.

I liked the XFL too. At the time it was fashionable to be heard hating on it, so it seemed like everyone hated it.

So all I'm left with is Arena League football, which is actually pretty cool.

Not to be yet another brand-new Watchmen fan like we keep seeing crop up, but since I read it I've been thinking about this real-life superhero thing. All the folks I've read about on this here intertron are fund raisers and shelter volunteers. The best of them I've read was Terrifica and Fantastico, that whole affair is pretty funny.

But check it out. I heard this in a radio advertisement. You can actually sign up for mobile Amber Alerts, where they'll send you text messages telling you who is suspected of kidnapping along with descriptions of them and their cars. So let's get some police equipment, hunt down kidnappers and dole out our own brand of vigilante justice. Instead of just being, you know, these kinds of people.

Will there be a second team called "The Avenging Avengers"?

Or will these guys go through the whole Justice League...

Justice League of Justice Task Force, Extreme Justice League of Justice, Justice League of Justice International, Justice League of Justice Europe, Justice League of Justice Elite, and so on.
