Wanting to avoid prison time because it sucks = good. I don't disapprove of many of the measures like his chain gangs or his coffee ban, and if the pink thing works, roll with it. I also think he's done good work with prison-staffed animal shelters.

However.

Wanting to avoid prison time because you might die or become seriously crippled from abuse and neglect = indefensible.

In this case, the favor goes to DMX. There is no excuse for Sherrif Joe. NONE. He's an asshole who abuses his power.

DMX appears to be an incredibly stupid drug user. That's it. He's not on the same "thug-level" as Suge Knight, and beyond the animal cruelty charge, he doesn't seem to be malicious. Sheriff Joe is malicious.

I would've made him wear milk bone underwear and let him live at a local pound.

Strangely enough, if you don't commit a crime and go to jail you don't have to wear prison-issued clothing.

But I suspect that he's just doing this to protect his reputation.

I've always suspected that in his basement he has pictures of his holy trinity: Clay Aiken, Elton John, and RuPaul. Along with a genuine piano stolen from Barry Manilow.

It makes sense because of all the things he's done makes him (in his mind) appear to the world to be a badass. It would be a good cover.

The alternative is that he only has 22 brain cells.

Yes, he is. I knew someone who ended up with a DUI charge and had to spend nights in the Tent City. Drugs get tossed over the fence on a whim. It's a near free for all and everyone is antsier than hell because of the conditions.

Now, don't get me wrong, I strongly believe in the death penalty, restriction of rights, and not paying a damn thing for life sentence inmates without parole. I even feel they should do one of those Hollywood island 'drop em and run' deals with video feeds for PPV revenue. However, making a huge scene about putting inmates in pink underwear? It's pandering to the retirees who remember 'the good ole days'. It serves no purpose, they're still clothed, and the serious offenders don't give a fark or else they wouldn't be there in the first place.

Real men shouldn't care about wearing pink.

/voted against him when I lived there. It's those old folks who live out of state most of the year and are so law-abiding they don't register their cars where they vote that keep putting him in office.
