I always liked Junta and Picture of Nectar. and Rift. and Lawn Boy.

Reminds me of college.

The Clifford Ball is the predecessor to Bonnaroo and Coachella? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

80,000+ people showing up to see one band over 3 days is nowhere near comparable to 80,000+ people showing up for a music festival, which have been going on for-farking-ever.

Why not Lemonwheel? Why not Big Cypress? Why not IT? Why is the Clifford Ball the predecessor?

Meh, whatever. I'll be at Deer Creek and Alpine. Can't wait.

I went to a show during the first comeback and I left thinking it was too soon. I think enough time has passed now that they might have some serious energy back in their limbs. I'm really excited to go back to Indiana b/c I think the Creek is one of the best outdoor venues in the country, especially for sound.

Bands love it too. One of the streets at Big Cypress was named "Deer Creek."

Lemonwheel was waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Clifford Ball. When is THAT dvd set coming out?

Meant to add......

sadly, not getting to see them this tour.
WTF???? No Atlanta show?

Too bad the IT DVD was only 2 discs, otherwise Phish could have gotten more of my money when IT was released. IT was the only Phish fest I've been too (had to skip the Coventry clusterfark as I would have been lost my job sooner if I had gone).

You didn't miss much, that show sucked. Hard.

Psyched for this DVD though. I still have one of those yellow Clifford Ball Safety shirts somewhere.

Decided to see Coventry in a pretty nice movie theater. So glad I didn't go.

This DVD is looking pretty great.

Anyways, I'll be at St. Louis' Fabulous Fox this tour and perhaps a few more time permitting.

Meh. The "Harry Hood" glowstick war at The Great Went was better.

I was there at Deer Creek back in 1995
I think it was June maybe July
But Jerry was still alive

All the kids in that parking lot
They tore that fence down
And I blamed them
For the second show getting cancelled.

I really wanted to go
I saved up all of my dough
I didn't go to any other shows
And I got my tickets M.O.ed
And I never missed a Deer Creek show
From '89 to '95
I was happy just to be alive
On my yearly Indiana vacation

But that was cut short by a bunch of jealous,
party bashin', buzz thrashin', gate crashin', stinky bastards

And if you're one of them
And you hear this songfark you
You cack sucking motherfarkerfark You

I don't know that song at all, but I remember the event. I was just a pup, but my sister had tix to the 2nd show. She was sitting in the lawn outside the gates when it went down. She was futilely yelling at people to stop because she knew it would cause a cancellation. Those people sucked ass.

I was at Oswego and IT, but I have all of the other festivals aside from Coventry (heard one song and was turned off) on disc. I think The Went and Clifford Ball are the top two and Lemonwheel definitely has its moments. I obviously can't speak to the atmosphere at the shows, but based on the aura of the '97 tours, I imagine The Went was one of the better festivals. The jams from the show are pretty tight. Simple > Odd Couple Theme > My Soul FTW. Cities from Lemonwheel is pretty siiiiick.

Cities was a nice surprise. The 2001 and Antelope however were the highlites for me.

/by soundboard for both days
//yay! 3000 mile drive for a festival!!!!!!

Pre-ordered for the Northeast shows. Hoping I can get Great Woods. Not counting my chickens though.

10? 10 farking shows you farking ear-teases? I'm fully expecting a combination of a later summer tour, festival, and/or fall tour. I'm rooting for the festival b/c our whole crew can get tickets and go to one place. Its a crapshoot with the smaller venues.

The Ball was magical because it was the first event of its scale on this scene for our generation. Loring AFB turned out to be a far better venue, IMO. I love that place. How you could hear the soundcheck floating over the runway a mile away. I dont think I could rate the festivals b/c I've had a spectacular time at every one of them.

And did anyone really think Coventry was going to be their last show ever? Really? They were what, like 38 yrs old at the time. Last show for a few years maybe.

Last 2 or 3 times ive seen Keller has been in Tampa Theater. AWESOME place for a show.

But this year hes playing Jannus Landing another great place, also in St Pete.

Perpetual groove, and YMSB heading around too.

Too bad what happened to Langarado this year, might have actually made it this year now its gonna suck.

Oh well.

Was at both the Went and Clifford Ball, never felt the need to do another 3 day event after those 2 since they totally blew my mind!
