It could be worse. It could be Oasis, Weezer, and Blink 182 reunited.

Or Creed.

every time weezer comes out with a new album i want so badly to like it. then i listen to things like "heart song" and "we are all on drugs" and i want to stab rivers so he can't break my heart any more

I've never been an Oasis fan
but I kinda like the new album

Oasis puts on a good show. They just finished a US tour, I saw them at the palace Dec. 13. Weezer? eh...i could just get really high during their set. Lots of girls though.

I saw Weezer when they opened for the Foo Fighters. I thought they put on a good show.

So which bland...I am band, is the headliner again?

Already Disturbed 2009-01-15 02:55:25 PM
I saw Tenacious D open for Weezer. I found Weezer to be, well... lame. And then they put out "Make Believe" and the red "Weezer," which sadly solidified their lame status.

The last two Oasis records were alright, though.

The Dynamite Monkey 2009-01-15 02:56:11 PM
I like Weezer and I like Oasis. Both selectively, not either's whole catalog -- but I would go to see this.

how could you tell them apart from all the others?

Lead and try,
Tell me why.
I feel like a Bona Fide
Keeper of the right and wrong
And I've known all along, but let me just make it clear

/They both suck ass!

My thoughts exactly.

Gevis 2009-01-15 03:58:22 PM
I would also go see this. And the fact that someone would compare either of these bands to Creed means they.

1. Like rap.
2. Like Country.
3. Like Rap and Country.
4. Like bands that haven't "sold out".

F**k you failed musicians with your Weezer hate.

that's some harsh invective for a minor editing mistake. do you really like the new weezer albums enough to have criticisms of them bring that out of you?

akrasia 2009-01-15 05:32:09 PM
this would've been better ten years ago.

danduran 2009-01-15 05:48:23 PM
I'd go in a flash, should they come here.

mfaby 2009-01-15 06:04:01 PM
Fark...

I can't think of ANYONE who could get me off the couch to go and see.

Maybe Tony Bennett if the tickets weren't $75 each.

B.B. King, Buddy Guy, but again, I'm not gonna $50 or $75.

Guess I'll have to wait til Summerfest. Last year in one night I
saw A3 (think Sopranos theme song) A. Escobar (he was great)
Massive Attack and The Wailers all for free (lucked out. Radio station paid for the ride and gave out free tix)

come down to chi. buddy guy still plays his joint every now and again, and cover is usually much less than $50.

So I saw a Weezer a couple years back because one of my favorite bands, the Pixies, opened for them.

The show was pretty good but the high school kids that were all around me were heckling the pixies which was totally disgusting.

Now get off my lawn!!

It was.

the first two weezer albums are great, but the last four have only seen a couple of great moments. i saw the last tour though, and have to admit that it was a pretty good show (girlfriend is a huge weezer fan).

a tour with oasis might not be bad. 'dig out your soul' is a pretty solid album, better than the last few oasis efforts. i saw them last time they played dallas. great show, but liam's voice was shot.

mr.crowley 2009-01-15 09:23:21 PM
Who the fark cares about Weezer? Really?

Never really figured that one out; Lots of girls like Weezer.

Weezer has always struck me as a brilliant band. Typically, they have one catchy tune per album, this tune causes everyone to buy the album, the rest of which sucks balls. Genius.

I don't like Weezer, but reading what River said in that blurb really made me dislike the band more. What a douchebag, oh, sorry, what a Wentz.

If Weezer had died in a plane crash after Pinkerton, they would be remembered as heroes of alt rock instead of has-beens.

/imagine if Kurt Cobain were still alive, he would also be a has-been

THIS.

/Blue Album, Pinkerton are the greatest

Oasis might suck less if Liam Gallagher wasn't such a wanker.

Weezer might suck less if they didn't exist.

It blows me away tht the pixies even OPENED for weezer man!
I like some of weezers stuff. (I want to punch a bunny when i hear that crap Beverly Hills song though)

Dont tell any bunnies I said that though ok?

tailormadebassist 2009-01-16 12:48:55 PM
Blue and Pinkerton were great albums, Green and Maladroit had alot of great moments. Haven't really listened to Make Believe or Red. But I would love to go see this tour. I like Oasis enough to enjoy their set.

Although, The Pixies opening for Weezer...wow. Stupid kids don't know good music when they hear it do they? Or who influenced who for that matter.

Beverly Hills kinda grew on me though. And I think what River's was saying in the article is that he felt he's grown as a musician and a performer, which is not arrogant at all. He didn't say he was the greatest frontman every, just they he thought their tour was the greatest show they've done. That's what I got out of it.

This post is too long. Sorry.

Oasis - overblown, overhyped, with egos to match
Weezer - popular cottage industry after their breakout debut

This bill screams "meh."

zunkus 2009-01-16 02:45:59 PM
I actually like one of these bands and it's definetely not Weezer. Yep thats right I'm an Oasis fan. Can't stand hearing Noel or Liam speak but I enjoy most of their music.
