What a waste of DNA. Kill her.

clancifer [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 07:51:05 PM
I send an average of 150 a month and even that feels like a lot. God damn...

wee [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 07:54:02 PM
I think I've sent 10 text messages in my entire life.

Fark those people.

Crosshair [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 08:58:57 PM
Reina had a karaoke birthday party, and while other people were singing, she was texting her best friend sitting right next to her.

It's at that point, that this girl needs to have some sense beaten into her. Seriously, meth heads aren't this obsessive. I can't imagine what it is going to be like for her when she gets a job and has to work.

AntiNorm [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 08:59:45 PM
That's one every three minutes, 24/7. Did she ever go to sleep?

Makh [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 09:02:55 PM
Now hold on there, it can be much less intrusive to get a text message and or determine the importance of the message at a glance.

/That being said, the number she sent, not so much.

snuff3r [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 09:03:40 PM
I'm adding this to my "i don't understand teenagers" list.

/get off my lawn

stephen02tb 2009-01-11 09:04:59 PM
its really not that bad considering her AIM/YAHOO/MSN counts as SMS

you can knock of 10 IMS in 20 seconds

Admz 2009-01-11 09:05:08 PM
14,000 of those messages were probably something like "lol"

Hoopaloop 2009-01-11 09:05:38 PM
Holy God in heaven that is insane. The only texting I really do is to a buddy of mine, and only one or two a day, at most. That's... someone get her a twelve step program.

/or possibly a shock collar

andynz81 2009-01-11 09:06:02 PM
How is that even possible? That's something like one txt every two minutes of her waking life (unless my quickfire calc is all ballsed up)

AT&T doesn't surrender, although they're probably annoyed that someone is getting their money's worth out of their text messaging scheme.

Shadyman 2009-01-11 09:07:11 PM
So that's...

/calculates

= (30 days in a month * 24 hours in a day * 60 minutes in an hour) / 14528 text messages in a month
= Roughly one text message every 2.97 minutes.

WHAT THE FARK?

somedude210 [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 09:07:37 PM
kill it with fire? seriously, if youre so tied up with texting, you should burn. there is no need what so ever do that much texting in a year, let alone a month.

/also can't stand "txt speak"
//writes long texts in real english
///the human race is turning into this...god help us
////slashies!

sofa_King_2006 2009-01-11 09:07:51 PM
so on a 31 day month, if she stayed up the entire month and sent 20 texts per hour she could do it.

Keep in mind, I check my kids messages every so often and a majority of the messages are usually.

msg 1: yo
msg 2: sup
msg 3: WTF?
msg 4: If a swallow carried a coconut by the husk, what continent would it be from?

ok, just kiddin on that last one.

JohnBigBootay 2009-01-11 09:08:10 PM
That seems like a lot, but I can't complain as I sent 6 texts myself last month so it's just a matter of degree really.

Pilot Kosmosa 2009-01-11 09:08:17 PM
I average 50 t0 100 messages a day on the weekend, and 1 or 2 during the week. I don't see why people don't like it. It spares me having to listen to all the weird yankee accents my friends have.

wild9 2009-01-11 09:08:22 PM
I can't seem to figure out that T9 shiat so it takes me forever to send one message and not worth the effort.

GungFu 2009-01-11 09:08:23 PM
Email. Idiot. Or actually use the phone to talk?

Or just plain STFU for a change.

Farking spazzy teens.

Transpogue 2009-01-11 09:08:24 PM
Ok, that is bordering on psychosis.

If the parents have any sense, they'll give her a limit and require that she sticks to it or she loses her phone privileges.

Hell, I had to BEG my parents to get a phone in my room at that age, and I had to pay for it.

Jesus Christ, what is happening to people?

vid 2009-01-11 09:08:36 PM
Makes perfect sense, if you have unlimited texting. There's a lot of times when I've been at concerts or dance clubs where I would totally do the same thing to talk to the people near me, if it was an option.

$30 for texting is the real outrage of the story. Might as well take full advantage of the "unlimited" nature of the plan.

JohnBigBootay 2009-01-11 09:08:54 PM
clancifer: I send an average of 150 a month and even that feels like a lot. God damn...

If I don't see a girl talking with someone, I see them with their cell phone out, texting. I have no idea why they have to be in constant communication with other people, but I am not surprised by this.

moondo 2009-01-11 09:09:58 PM
My cellphone has zero texting function. All my friends biatch about how I never get their messages or how rude I am for not responding to their text msgs.

My answer to them: "Buy me a new farking phone and I'll text you."
/hasn't changed his cellphone in 7 years

Wizzin 2009-01-11 09:10:44 PM
I guarantee all 14,528 are meaningless drivel. My niece is that age and her whole life revolves around crap like this.

Another Government Employee 2009-01-11 09:10:57 PM
I wonder if she messages while kissing her boyfriend.

Oh, that's right. She spends so much time texting, she doesn't have one.

I should say my observations are not exclusive to girls and women, but they are by far the ones I see texting the most. My best friend is just as bad, but he's kind of girly anyway.

African swallows are non-migratory.

Snuffybud 2009-01-11 09:12:19 PM
I thought my ex-girlfriend's daughter had the record. She did 8,900 in one month. That's when we found out Verizon's unlimited texting really wasn't unlimited. They had a (I believe) 5000 text message limit. They were nice enough to refund the charges and put us into what was truly an unlimited plan. 14,500? Jeesh, that half again as much more!

Hmm...when it gets down to really thinking hard about it, I have to agree. The reason being that she isn't being very productive with her time, and if her current addiction continues she could become a danger to others (on the road).

You know I've always assumed two people, walking togther, talking on cell phones were talking to one and other, but wow she proved it.

jennyz 2009-01-11 09:13:02 PM
Crap. And I thought I texted alot.

We've got 1k a month, and we barely put a dent in it.

Funk Brothers 2009-01-11 09:13:05 PM
At least this girl is from California. She would have spent this excess amount of money on weed or other illegal drugs from Latin American countries.

somedude210 [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 09:13:28 PM
I think at most, ive texted 400 in a month, but i have a girlfriend, so it doesnt count. also did it all in long drawn out sentences that would take like 5 texts to finish.

/wanted unlimited texts so i dont pay overage for 200/month
//got unlimited media package
///yay! fark on my phone, free of charge!

One of my teen's Venturing friends regularly goes about 10K messages in a month. I drove them around once, and it was a constant "clickclickclickclickclick" on her phone. It was even a normal one, not a sidekick, so she was T9-ing them. Astounding. She could even talk to the other girls in the car and text someone else at the same time. If that level of skill could be redirected to something useful, like math, science, or using one's mouth and hand simultaneously, it would change the world.

/not HER with that last one. Knees are way too sharp

Ambrotos 2009-01-11 09:14:28 PM
Well it says she was texting 4 different girls, if she replied to each of them once per minute, that's 240 messages per hour. She claimed she was bored over break, so 2-3 hours a day of constant texting would easily add up. Stack another 2-3 hours on that and she'd be logging over 1000 texts per day.

mcwebe0 [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 09:14:31 PM
What I find remarkable is that this number is only about 14x the average for people in her age group.

anonymousgirl 2009-01-11 09:15:34 PM
my brother sent something like 5000 texts to his gf in one month. this is the same guy who will spend all day with the damn girl and then when he gets home he's on the phone with her and doesn't get off the phone for 2 more hours. even then, he's yelling at her that he has to hang up dammit or his sister will kick his ass.

or something like that.

/i weep for his soul or lack thereof

Did no one RTFA? They have already done the calculations for you.

And yea, I'd text that!

This type of twat will probably end up with some popular gossip twitter blog or some shiat.

studebaker hoch 2009-01-11 09:16:04 PM
T-Mobil charges me $0.15 to send a text, $0.05 to receive one.

Assuming it's a conversation with on average one text sent for each received, that's $0.20 per text:

14,528 * $0.20 = $2905.60!

I sure hope the kid had an "unlimited plan"...

Degenz 2009-01-11 09:16:13 PM
I was watching a congressional commitee hearing on C-SPAN not too long ago and there was one of those hot biatches right behind the Senator doing the questioning. You know, the kind they all seem to have alot of on their staff.

Anyway she was justing texting away and making all sorts of animated facial expressions reacting to her bff Jill. It was far more interesting watching her than the old windbag.
