I would find that cute.

Then again, I think a romantic evening involves fast food and a coop round of contra 3.

I believe the Boston airport police will love that LED circuit board heart.

They'll even find you a new girlfriend who has much kinkier ideas.

coop = co-op. spelling fail.

I don't know, women do enjoy shinny and sparkly things. But they have to be expensive for some reason, maybe they think they are actually worth a damn.

I would totally dig that if I was somebody's girlfriend.

My wife made me LED circuit board Xmas Tree that I still put up in my office every season. Bless her heart.

That heart LED set is shiny and sparkly in my book. And it's a fun weekend project.

Price does not matter...now what really counts is the thought behind the gift. Anybody can buy jewelry. But it takes a special someone to look at what she loves and enjoys and then buy her that gift. My husband will get me computer parts for a special occasion. That's much more useful than some flashy bauble.

my boyfriend put a red vinyl heart next to the nvidia and intel badges on my laptop. it's coming off though *cry*

Diodes and resistors? There must be at least one active element in order to oscillate! My bet: Its probably a CMOS 555.

For anyone that wants to know, the flashing heart thing is an astable multivibrator circuit. It is relatively simple and pretty much anyone could follow instructions to make one(plans can be found on the internet easily)

ravenlore [TotalFark] 2009-01-11 11:04:10 AM
i think it needs a few more LED's, but that is just awesome and adorable.

If i had a sigother who gave me that i would love it...i'd take it to work and display it proudly in my cube.

That is all...

signaljammer 2009-01-11 11:14:43 AM
Oh, looking at the circuit board again, it is probably a symmetrical, two-transistor oscillator circuit. Not my cup of tea, aesthetically, but to each his own. Its use here is fine because this is a low-precision application.

Peanut_the_Destroyer Then again, I think a romantic evening involves fast food and a coop round of contra 3.

I agree! Hubby and I were thinking about going out the other night and doing something fancy we don't normally do, like going to a nice restaurant or something.

Then we realized we both hate that crap, so we hit up Sheetz for some MTOs and went home to play Halo 3 all night.

We might be doing it wrong, but if it's wrong, we don't want to be right.

For an ex I welded up a rose out of scrap body panels from my beloved project car.

She new the car came first, so she was pleasantly surprised by my gift.

I bought my wife a blinking, battery operated NEON heart years ago. She loves it.

She wears it on Valentine's Day, our anniversary and whenever she wants to get my attention for *ahem* a specific reason. ;-)

You'd have to move to Canada. That okay? I don't have a Canadian passport just yet...

You know, I can build those myself. And I love sushi. And I'm not originally from Michigan, so Ohio doesn't frighten or anger me.

Just meant I couldn't easily get into the states just yet. I'd have to apply for an entry visa. 18 more months and hopefully I'll be a full-fledged Canuck by then!

Oh, I thought it was a Canadian-girlfriend reference. You know, 'I met this girl online and we're getting married, but she lives in Canada so that's why you haven't met her'.

No, no, she lives by my grandmother's house. The one you haven't met because she lives in a distant city.
