so what you're saying is that all this has happened before? And that maybe it will all happen again?

Eh. This just means people were in the area, not as any particular "city". People have been living for millenia in Arizona before we had Phoenix and Tuscon. Sort of also saying Johanessburg has been around since 150,000 BCE.

How many other sites like that are hidden under the current sea level? Would that put it in the last ice age? That would account for the lower sea level or it could be plate shift?

60,000 years ago, all humanity as we know it lived in Africa. The first homo sapiens left Africa from Ethiopia to Yemen. Even to this day, I have seen Ethiopian/Eritrean immigrants to the USA that looked not too unlike some Saudi faces. Then to India, then towards Indonesia. And simultaneously another branch of humanity migrating towards Europe. (Citation: National Geographic's "National Genographic")

Because the Bosphorus Strait probably isn't nearly as strategically or economically important as it was in antiquity.

Not saying it isn't still, as it is. But it was the most important city in the Western world for a long time for those reasons.

Oh, and that whole Renaissance thing with secular humanism, too, I suppose.

Thanks for that. Tiny Tune Adventures turned me onto the brilliance of TMBG way back in Jr High.

Since then, I've wanted to go to a TMBG show but have shied away from it since my college years. Then, friends of mine who could afford to travel and see a show came back to report the venue was over populated by 13 year olds. Is this still the case?

I have no idea, but I still have most of their music. It's still real to me dammit.

Somewhat like like destroying your own shiat in a riot. Why would you want to take back a glass parking lot you could never re-inhabit?

I've seen them twice, both times in my early 20's or late teens. Me and my friends were easily the youngest people there. I'd say their audience was much older than most of the groups I've gone to see perform.

As do I. Since college I've always thought it best that I never saw them live. Somewhat sad I suppose, as they've seen more of my money than any other single artist.

That has more to do with African slave trade and the Islamic horde's expansion into Africa. Saudi Arabia didn't officially ban the African slave trade until 1967.

I am in my mid 30s and a fan since Tiny Toons. I have seen them 5 times over the course of 15 years and always felt I was in the median age when seeing then. They are awesome live and you should try and see them before they stop touring. . .
