I hope he made good use of those dental benefits while he had them.

Tweakers suck.

Every methhead I've seen has teeth that rival the Britons. If he was at the dentist he also is the type of person that considers McDonalds, fine dinning.

My dentist is strongly considering moving his pain management strategy to meth since he first learned of the addictive dangers of nitrous oxide.

In August 2006, four months after Sims sued, NCI sent him a letter that offered to pay for a second urine test. Sims accepted and tested positive again.

I wonder what his excuse was for failing a second test 4 months later. Another dentist visit?

No dentist is going to work on these.

Meth freaks are immune to hyperbole, hard as it is to believe, there's really nothing they won't do to protect their addiction.

In a rational world, we'd quit wasting money imprisoning pot heads in order to focus on problems like meth.

I hope this guy gets some reasonable time, and I also hope they nail whoever made his meth. This area has a terrible meth problem, and the drug itself is just part of it. That shiat is so toxic that it can condemn a house. Most places now have "Meth Watch" on top of the normal neighborhood watches.

Since when does an employer need a reason to fire someone? If someone needs to be fired - then fire them. No reason needs to be given. Giving cause to have to be tested for meth and failing the test don't help.

/I live in an at will state.

True story...

Used to be responsible for the alarm at the business I used to work for. I drew the short straw since I lived closest.

So it goes off one Saturday afternoon and when I get there I see 3 cop cars in the lot. I went ahead and let 2 of them in and stayed outside with two other officers while they swept the floors.

Starting talking to one of them about the meth problem in Tennessee and he ended up telling me a little story. He had gone on a big drug bust on a lab here and when they went into the backyard they found a kiddie pool with a tarp over it. When they lifted it up it was full of urine. They separated the 3 suspects and started quizzing them about the pool. One finally fessed up.

He said that they piss into the pool back there, and then they filter out the meth in their piss and smoke it again.

Thought I'd heard everything until that...

*rofl* That's a level to which I think I'd almost have to applaud them for the creativity, almost.

Eh, that's mostly a lot of extractions, not so back if you don't mind blood.

In a related story; man found with portable meth lab inside his penis.

Abbott made methamphetamine just fine without leaving a big toxic mess, once you make something illegal you cease to be able to regulate it.

I've had a periodontist use suphedrine (don't remember why) on me during a procedure, so I guess that's where he got the idea. Pretty thin stuff to appeal on.

culebra: Dr. Meth might be able to testify in his defense. (new window)

You know, I keep hearing this nonsense that meth doesn't destroy your teeth. I have known at least three people addicted to meth and within 24 months of their addiction, their teeth were in seriously bad shape. There is NO way a person simply not brushing their teeth for 24 months would do that.

Additionally, in one case a woman who was a young attractive female lost about 25% of her body weight and she certainly didn't need to lose weight. Her thighs shrunk to about the size of my forearm. She was basically having sex with any man willing for drugs or money. A neighbor told me she offered to have sex with no condom for $5 extra. So meth addiction doesn't cause risky behavior?

I call Bullshiat!

culebra : "Dr. Meth might be able to testify in his defense. (new window)"

"Unrestricted use of heroin, it depends on how you're doing it, because if you're injecting typically your veins will collapse and that will save you at some level, so even with that you might be ok"

... Wow. This gives new meaning to the term 'junk science'.

lewismarktwo: Meth stays in your system for what? Three days? fark you if you cant stop using meth for 3 farking days.

Well, yeah, IF you only used it the one time. As with any other fun but illegal drug the longer you use it, the longer it hangs around in your system. So if someone has been on a ten-day speed run, he's not going to be magically clean three days after the last shot. The more so if the 10 days were preceded by two or three years of use.

Caught this scanning the thread: There is NO way a person simply not brushing their teeth for 24 months would do that. Not brushing your teeth for TWO YEARS???? and you don't think all your teeth wouldn't rot out of your head???? Ew, I don't want to see your dental hygiene! :)

It used to be thought it was the acid in meth that ate up your teeth, but that's not the case. As a former user, I'd guess myself that it's a combo of not brushing, erratic diet, and also that meth just dries out your mouth, making it vulnerable to all sorts of yummy bacterial infections...especially the STD related kind.

spidermilk 2009-01-10 11:36:57 PM
Meth is an awful thing. They're always busting people for making meth in their houses around here. I know someone who works at the school preschool and some of the kids parents have been busted for making meth and somehow aren't in jail and still have the kids. She said these kids will come to school with a right shoe on both feet, stinky, dirty clothes, and especially after a weekend will be starving (for food and attention) and have snot built up on their face from not being cared for all weekend. These people wonder why their four year old children are unable to talk. This is in Missouri, which I've heard is the worst, but I'm sure this is happening to countless children. Adults can endanger their lives and kill themselves, but child abuse is inexcusable.

If you do drugs, if you buy drugs [I don't have a problem with it], but think about what those people who make those drugs are doing. Meth tends to be one of the way more messed-up ones.

OniNeko 2009-01-10 11:52:59 PM
As a former addict, if I could convince just ONE person not to ever pick up such an awful habit, I think my existence here on Earth would have been worth it.

At 5'6", 135 lbs. (soaking wet), I'm a pretty small guy. However, losing 45 lbs. to a meth habit was something I couldn't even see in a mirror. That drug will put you in a state of psychosis, and it will seem as though nothing has changed since you started.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, do not ever pick this drug up, and do not associate with anyone that it has its claws into.
