Eh, it's still been a month (to the day) since he was first indicted. That's still too slow. In the mean time he still got to appoint the Senator he wanted.

From Wikipedia: "(one voted present)"

It was Barack Obama!

I just wonder what his motivation for voting against the impeachment is because it sure as Hell isn't going to help any future re-election campaign.

I still find it strange that the Fark Independents aren't furiously digging through the archives for something the other party did 30 years ago and... oh wait, never mind.

I guess we also won't have to see a firestorm of NewsMax, American Thinker, PowerLine, and other floor-humping headlines all afternoon screaming about persecution and defending the scumbag.

The system may be slow, but it's good to see it working.

Except they didn't act very fast, considering. Blaggy still had time to triple dog dare Reid not to sit that nice black man in the Senate.

I must say if you think Obama is clean of corruption you have never lived in Chicago and do not understand that corruption is a way of life in politics in Chicago. Yeah I did live there.

Good.

I found it rather amusing that he was going to "fight to his last breath" for his innocence.

You "fight to your last breath" when you're getting robbed at gunpoint.

Good for them. It's nice to see someone in a position of authority face consequences.

Good. This is a joke.

I joined an orchestra that had it's first rehearsal yesterday. As I introduced myself to my stand partner, he asked where I'm from originally. After I told him I'm from Chicago, all he could talk about was Blagojevich. It's embarrassing.

Though I get the feeling that the wonderful residents of Chicagoland will happily vote in the next guy, who'll do the same exact thing - but just be a bit more discreet...

This should have happened a month ago. The minute that pompous douchebag refused to step down someone should have physically dragged his ass out and put him on the street. Preferably it would have been done by Mr. T.

I'm not exactly an expert on the Illinois Constitution but isn't it a specifically defined part of his job?

Good question, I think people just started saying it. Might have been a line from one of the concern trolls. In any case, the meme is bad news... for Obama.

So did I, while Obama was in office. He did a good job of staying away from the corrupt types, from what I could tell. He knew he wanted to be POTUS and not a career Illinois politician. So he had little to gain. Especially considering that Illinois always votes Democrat for President lately.
