(Rolling Stone) Followup Led Zeppelin, realizing that replacing Plant is just going to irk the masses, officially gives up: "If you didn't see them in 2007, you missed them. It's done. I can't be any clearer than that"   (rollingstone.com) divider line 29

Not really obscure, and not "better" than Led Zeppelin, I just happen to enjoy them more.

LZ is my favorite band, that's precisely why I think this is good.

I debated seeing Page and Plant years ago. I chose not to. Bonzo is my favorite man in the band.

Although, if you get a chance to see Lez Zeppelin, take it. Lots of fun.

Who cares, LZ is the most over rated band ever!

No, that would be The Beatles, LZ is second. I don't deny what both bands did for music, but they are still as overrated as hell.

Yeah, totally!! Way more than your favorite band!

LZ: Bunch of talentless hacks!!1! Tell us, King, who is so totally way more better?

Ugh, the idea was never to replace Plant in "Led Zeppelin," they could still get a singer for a group made of former LZ members. They wouldn't call it "Led Zeppelin." There is still a good chance of J3 making new material.

I was expecting something really stupid, as these "check out non-related band!" links tend to be, but then you had to go and link the best song from one of my favorite bands. So I guess I can't hate you.

There is still hope. Science has already proven
that it IS possible to clone a plant...

Good. It would be a sacrilege to do it without Plant. That said, I am in the distinct minority of people who would LOVE to see them reform Zeppelin WITH Plant, and would be willing to consider selling bodily organs for tickets.

You both forgot The Doors. Once you get past maybe a handful of enjoyable songs and a couple of gimmicks (the organ, Jim's "poetry"), there's really no there there. On a strict critical fellating:artistic value ratio, it's hard to top them.

I think it's a shame. Just because they aren't 25 anymore doesn't mean they don't have some good music left in them.

A crappy zep album or tour would still blow the socks off 99% of the shiat coming out today.

I think LZ is horribly overrated but I'd sit through a two hour LZ video marathon rather than watch that farking terrible clip more than the 10 seconds that I did.

Precisely. Without Bonham there is no Zeppelin.

Awesome! So now I don't have to coin-flip between spending money on a Zeppelin show or a five-man Genesis show. Paging Messrs. Hackett and Gabriel to the white courtesy phones...

Bets on there being a "Page's All-Stars" tour being announced? "Featuring John Paul Jones, Jason Bonham and (choose from Steven Tyler / Alter Bridge guy / Some Shmuck) on vocals!"

So anyone think Plant's sticking with Alison Krauss for more than just the camaraderie?

while I agree completely with you, my generation sucks and I feel like we will never have anyone as timeless as some of the bands from the 60s/70s. And I would do anything to get to see even some form of them live. Curse the 80s! I needed to be born 40 years earlier for my taste in music.
