Jimmy Devil Rocket Science: When I was a kid detonating GI-Joe and Barbies with firecrackers, I always wondered why Barbie, as a toy for girls, was about a hundred times more resistant to explosive concussion than a G.I. Joe.

You could send a G.I. Joe's body parts flying all over the place just by sticking a Black Cat in that little rubber band that held him together. Barbie, on the other hand, could take an M-80 to the face, a direct hit at point blank from a pellet gun that's been pumped up about fifty times, and abuse from a dog without so much as a scratch. You pretty much had to set that biatch on fire before she'd show any damage.

Pretty unrealistic, if you ask me.

Check wikipedia under his name. I think it mentions it there. Barbie has been mattels cash cow for a lot of years. The story of how she came to be is argued by anyone there at the time she came out. Jack Ryan worked for the government designing top secret missle guidance systems before he freelanced for mattel. A lot of what he designed is still being used today. He was a genius and had a lot of celebrity friends. When he died there where politicians, businessman, actors, and even Big Willie at his funeral. I met him when I was 8 years old. My father was working for him turning some of his designs into toys. He lived in the guest house near one of the pools closest to his mansion in Bel Aire. The place looked like an england castle and had 3 fire trucks and 2 limo's parked in front of it. The limos had been cut in half, my father said Jack did it with a chain saw. Anyway my dad said Jack did do part of the designs for the barbie, especially the head.
