The reason why I cannot tell;
But this I know, and know full well,
I do not love thee, Dr Fell.

Of course, sub-wrong character quote-mitter, it was Obi-Wan Kenobi (the good guy) who said that, not Darth Vader (the bad guy).
The fail is strong in the headline.

Well, if we're going to nerd out on this one, are you saying Sith can't use the mind trick? Because I'm sure that was his point, and you got it either way.

Yeah, I just figured it was a joke about balls-out lying and hoping to get away with it without any particular connection to character alignment.

Yeah, he told me all that crap before, when he called our house during the 2004 campaign. He also said he was from the government and he was here to help, and that the rebate check was in the mail. He said something about my mouth, too, but the line was whargarbled.

Try telling that to the murderous terrorists you personally waterboarded, Mr Cheney.

Cheney is about as lovable as a porcupine covered in AIDS blood is snuggly.

El_Dan 2009-01-08 04:31:07 AM
He's actually very lovable, provided you work for the energy or defense industries. Or provided that you really, really like to torture people.

You may also love him if you specialize in removing buckshot from peoples' faces.

FTA: Vice President Dick Cheney said Wednesday that his image has gotten a bad rap in the press and that he is in fact "a warm, lovable sort."

Does the above apply before, during or after Cheney clubs baby seals to death?

miscreant 2009-01-08 09:35:28 AM
Cheney was the one who got the bad rap because that's how they wanted it. Good cop, bad cop type of thing. I imagine he knew he was never going to run for president, so making Bush's image less tarnished was one of his jobs. Not that he did that great a job of it, since Bush is still leaving office with one of the worst images in US history, but I don't doubt that it was part of this VPs job to be the bad guy.

He just disappointed a LOT of necrophiliacs.

It is not unusual for criminals like Cheney to think highly of themselves. Most of the folks in prison think they are not bad people and don't belong there. Almost all the mobsters throughout the years, from Capone to Gotti, considered themselves to be "public benefactors". Lewis Lawes, the warden of the Sing-Sing prison in New York once made this statement "few of the criminals in Sing-Sing regard themselves as bad men. They are just as human as you and I. So they rationalize, they explain. They can tell you why they had to rob those orphans or be quick on the trigger finger. Most of them attempt by a form of reasoning, fallacious or logical, to justify their anti-social acts to themselves, consequently explaining why they never should have been imprisoned at all"

Cheney's numerous crimes speak for themselves. Investigate, convict and hang the bastard.

Cheney shoots his friends in the face, his country in the foot and the American Constitution in the heart.

I will celebrate when he dies, assuming his deal with Satan expires before I do.

bluorangefyre 2009-01-08 12:23:30 PM
If he says so, but we know better (new window).

True story time: A few months after Cheney shot his friend hunting, one of my bosses was shot in a hunting accident kinda similar. He was fine, but we joked that he should always look out for Dick Cheney. Well, a few more months after that, and who should pop up 10 miles from where my boss lived but Dick Cheney! He was in Southwest GA to do some hunting, and he and his wife decided to go to downtown Thomasville to do some shopping. So he seems like a somewhat normal guy, but I wouldn't want to test the theory that he shoots lightning from his fingertips.

ole Turd Blossom cheney is lovable when he can get a buck off you. otherwise, he's just another greedy bloke.

His grandchildren probably think he's lovable. The rest of us still think of Darth Cheney and Mortimer Snerd.

Cheney is lovable, deep down where it isn't visible. Kind of like Hitler really loved dogs and children. As long as they were Alsatians and Aryans.

Hitler made the trains run on time, Cheney got the war running on time. You know, stuff like that. But they were really nice people!
