Ummm, ok. And to all those who bought into "hope and change", waiting for the new brighter, shinier America? We just tell them too bad suckers, you should have known better?

You know what else leaves Republicans fuming?

Doors on the stalls in men's bathrooms.

Congressional Pages who refuse to sit on their laps.

Voters that refuse to reward them for running up the deficit.

Presidents that use the military to protect the United States rather than to deal with daddy issues.

Women in comas that refuse to wake up.

it is. pissant republicans can no longer offer motions to recommit demanding that some appropriations bill for a road should actually be a declaration that abortion is bad.

purple helmet 2009-01-07 03:29:25 PM
We shouldn't rest until term limits are established for congress. We have to get rid of these career politicians and get some new blood working through the system.

The idiot mentality of voters to re-elect incumbents would change there would be more involvement and interest in congressional elections. Case in point: you re-elected most of the idiots who voted in the whole Wall Street bailout. WTF??? (I didn't vote for anyone who supported that fiasco).

Even reasonable democrats should realize having power completely lopsided on one party isn't good for the country. Gridlock = balance.

I think this is about changing the rules so Congressional Democrats don't have to show any muscle.

"Oh no, we might have to take politically difficult votes. We might have to actual stand up for the values of the people we supposedly represent. Let's change the rules so we can continue doing things half-assed."

Congressional Democrats need to grow a spine and actually stand for something once in awhile.

Congress, Pelosi Reid and company, used the same mantra as P.E. Obama. You cannot separate the two when they use the same platform. True, Obama does not direct congress, but they sure as hell aren't going to go against his wishes after this election.

After the way the Republicans ran congress (poppers) they're lucky Democrats even let them have offices. They've already been treated much better than they deserved after being complete asshats while they were in the majority.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Seems like there was a lot more obstruction just to be whiny tools by the right, so I can't say I blame them. In a perfect world Pelosi wouldn't do this but then again who are we really kidding here? The Republicans don't have any intention of trying to work with the Democrats and everyone knows it. Do we really need to re-hash Boehner saying they wouldn't vote for the bailout because Pelosi hurt their feelings with a "partisan" speech?

Just because they latched on to his successful formula doesn't mean he should be held accountable for their d-baggery. And if you don't think they're gonna be at odds with each other, you haven't been paying attention. Reid and Pelosi have made it clear they're not gonna let Obama control them like Bush did. Which makes no sense whatsoever, but then again, Pelosi and Reid are idiots.

Reid: I don't work for Obama (new window)

In talks with Emanuel and others, sources say, Pelosi has 'set parameters' for what she wants from Barack Obama and his White House staff (new window)

If not, FARK YOU, REPUBLICANS. You didn't even attempt to try when you were in power. There is ZERO chance that you will try to be bipartisan next time you are in power, regardless of what the Democrats do.

And you see how well that worked out for the GOP. The politics of screw you and laugh that you support isn't exactly going to win elections, grow support, or help Obama in the coming years.

But, in that regard, I can't say I'm too upset. I'd rather Obama and congress make the US better rather than fail. If they fail because mental midgets like you would rather have a little "gotcha" party, any gains liberals have made this election cycle will go the way of the dodo.

Point taken. Still, after six years of complaining that the Republicans were mistreating the downtrodden Democratic minority, to see this all being played out like a pro wrestling story line is rather sad.
