Eddie Vedder's former greatness died the day he performed "Rockin In The Free World" live with Neil Young in (I think) '93

God did that suck.

Eddie did ok with the Into The Wild soundtrack though, I'll give him that. Didn't think I'd ever like anything of his again.

Great. Can you tell us how you feel about Eddie Van Halen though?

I personally think Eddie Van Halen was NEVER great.

no kidding, but it was a sweet follow up to Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time" the year before.

That guy's had a hell of a career. They even made a movie about him called "Eddie and the Cruisers"

Sure enough, but tell me he's not the absolute tits on The Riches! Eddie Izzard is the greatest of the executive transvestites.

definitely a hall of famer, but i wouldn't say "greatest." eddie murray was just never at the top of his game after the '86 season.

He was a hell of a surfer though. Man, that Eddie Aikau was a legend. Too bad what happened to him, but he was a hero.

Quite a career, that Eddie. Quite a career.

i dunno man, i think he sold out with his national chain of casual outdoor clothing stores. that eddie bauer really really should have just stuck to auctioning off classic cars and one-of-a-kind guitars.

True, true. And Eddie Albert's time spent on Green Acres established him as a TV comedy icon.

I disagree -- as the big freighters go. Eddie Fitzgerald was bigger than most, with the crew and good captain well seasoned. He was the pride of the American side.

I think I speak for all of us, including Edward "Ted" Kennedy when I say this is the greatest Eddie thread of all time. This is one of the many reason I love Fark.

I never thought "Psycho" Eddie Belfour was that great a goalie. He must have made a lot of money at it though, to be able to offer a billion dollars to stay out of jail.

Sir Edward Ross does not like to be called "Eddie Baby."

I just got a hold of a VH bootleg from Atlanta in 2004, and gawd, is Eddie awful. You could drag a guitar on a gravel road behind a truck and get better sounds.

Don't know if was the booze or the skills fading, but it's painful.

darch 2009-01-06 04:49:51 PM
I believe that Eddie Norton's disparate roles (Keeping the Faith, American History X, etc) place him in the cannon of great American actors. You don't get much more American than Columbia, Maryland.

TeddyBallGame [TotalFark] 2009-01-06 07:19:13 PM
Oh, one last thing Eddie Dean of New York wasn't here so it wasn't an official Eddie thread.

He was horrible on the '04 tour, and the middle leg of the '07-'08 tour as well. After his stint in rehab in March '08 he was very good again. I haven't looked to see if there's any clips from the TigerJam benefit I saw them at in April, but he was close to the top of his game then.

Ya, quite a career that Dream'Ed (new window) back when he was on mp3.com

Always diggin the melodies. See, on guitar, they call that wanking or spotlight hogging. On a synth, it's slick.

/guitarist & beginner synth jockey

Absolutely, but don't forget his 8 films with soprano Jeanette MacDonald and his 3 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That Nelson Eddy was quite a guy.

It's worth noting she had a few solid albums with the New Bohemians before she married Paul Simon and dropped out of the scene, presumably to spend more time working on her hot rods.

Yes sir, that Eddie Haskell has had quite a varried career since he left "Leave To Beaver".
