Um, no.

Christina and Axl are two of the greatest. I put 'em up there with Ann Wilson, Geoff Tate and Freddie Mercury.

Talent is talent, no matter how snarky the writer is.

killahgrag [TotalFark] 2009-01-05 04:46:23 PM
At least Christina is hot and not totally batshiat crazy like the other Mouseketeer-ette grad.

/totally agree with that list tho

rmz [TotalFark] 2009-01-05 04:50:24 PM
Put a Winehouse Warning into that headline next time, subby.

NYRBill 2009-01-05 04:50:38 PM
no Robert Plant? no Jim Morrison? no Janice Joplin?
/Christina may have sucky songs but she can sing well

coffee fiend 2009-01-05 04:51:08 PM
I'm sorry, but Xtina has a great voice, absolutely great. I'm not a fan of her style of music, but the woman can sing.

Nemo's Brother 2009-01-05 04:52:49 PM
Axl rules. The rest I agree with. I think Plant is overrated, as is Streisand, Celine Dion and everyone ever from American Idol. They bring nothing to the plate that you can't find in any church choir in the country.

gamerchick_ 2009-01-05 04:53:15 PM
Celine Dion.

Kaeishiwaza 2009-01-05 04:53:18 PM
Author says Christina is a great singer but he just doesn't like her voice. How is that supposed to make her overrated? That's some haute douchebaggery right there. I don't own a single piece of music by her because I don't like her music much either, but I recognize a talented singer when I hear one.

List is full of failure.

wolfzr2 2009-01-05 04:53:25 PM
coffee fiend: I'm sorry, but Xtina has a great voice, absolutely great. I'm not a fan of her style of music, but the woman can sing.

She can sing, but enough with the farking "WHAOOAAOoaooaoaoooOAAHHHHaoooaoowoooooooooooaaaoahohohwowwwwwoooooooooooooOOoOo OoooOOoooooooHhhaaaaaaoooooo!!!"

I_Forgot_My_Pen 2009-01-05 04:53:58 PM
I have no problem with that list

Mirrorz 2009-01-05 04:54:08 PM
Damn British/meth teeth.

Five Tails of Fury 2009-01-05 04:55:24 PM
Jesus, the pic at the top of the page nearly blinded me. Is she dead yet, or has she Keith Richards-ed herself enough so that she'll be able to perform even after she's dead, if she's got a mic stand to be propped up against?

As for the list, I have to disagree on Axl - he's got a surprising range, though not having heard all of Chinese Democracy I don't know if he's still able to manage the lighter stuff. Everyone else, sure, though Bono's a bit iffy. I hate female R&B singers in general, so yeah.

I dunno... i kind of like when she hits the drunken cookie monster low notes before she turns into a convulsing human accordion.

Third_Uncle_Eno 2009-01-05 04:55:45 PM
Chris Martin seems like he has a hard time hitting notes correctly sometimes in concert.... he's sometimes flat [or is it sharp?]

Dr Dreidel 2009-01-05 04:56:26 PM
Not one, but TWO grotesque pics of Amy Winehouse. Thanks, subby, I may not get an erection until the next presidential administration.

Agree with every pick except Aguilera. She may go crazy with the vocal changes, but she sings like a woman twice her size. Like an angel twice her size. With bigger boobies. And a smaller nose. And a natural redhead.

// runs to bunk

Third_Uncle_Eno 2009-01-05 04:58:17 PM
i dunno.... i really liked Bono's vocal style on "Joshua tree" and "achtung! baby"... it matured very nicely since the early days of U2 / early 80's.

but on a few lines here and there in different songs, it sometimes seems like he's yawning while singing a word, or a bunch of words.

NorCalLos 2009-01-05 04:59:35 PM
Christina is a great singer. Axl has never been accused of being a "great singer," but using that MTV VMA performance is not fair play. It was his first tv appearance in a decade and I think he was a bit nervous and he supposedly had issues with his monitors. Also, any musician knows it takes a song or so to get warmed up. I agree with whoever said Jim Morrison is overrated. Also, Bruce Springsteen's voice does not even cut through the guitars in his crap band.

UncleScam 2009-01-05 04:59:38 PM
they forgot Thom Yorke - those whimpers, squeals, and yelps are just awful. some people should be prohibited by law from using falsetto...

Gunny Highway 2009-01-05 05:00:42 PM
Yea I dont think Christina should be on the list either.

Stickdeath 2009-01-05 05:01:12 PM
The Bloodhound Gang did a good imitation of Axl Rose in their "Hooray for Boobies" album. Just goes to show you that anyone can sing like him... horribly.

NorCalLos 2009-01-05 05:02:15 PM

"Let's get down to brass tax"?

Cracked.com's lists are to Spike.com's lists as The New Yorker is to the poorly-photocopied pamphlet handed out by the crazy shouting Jesus guy down on the corner.

THISx1,000,000

seeing her trying to hit those long high notes while waiving her index finger makes me very stabby

She is crap, because she CAN sign, but uses her talent for garbage. I don't know how someone can sign a song like "You're beautiful" and not vomit on their laps

HappyHarryHardOn [TotalFark] 2009-01-05 05:10:20 PM
Oh and I just RTFA

and its a farking troll.. We can laugh at Winehouse until tomorrow, but the girl can farking sign

And I got no beef with Axl and Bono... try to sign that note he hits on the opening of "New Years day" while strumming a guitar... I GUARANTEE you will be fail miserably

Argoran 2009-01-05 05:12:26 PM
gamerchick_: Celine Dion.

This.

Also, Mariah Carey. Banshees that should be sent screaming back to hell, whence they belong. Hell, Amy Winehouse couldn't even keep her glamour up, to fool people into thinking that she's human and walks on two legs.

/mix powerful meds and HST, and whaddaya get?
//this!

Top 7 most overrated singers of all time. And yes they do suck according to one self-important twunt.

Not a single person on that list "sucks," I hate to be "horrible list" guy, but that was a horrible list.

Umm, where's Geddy Lee on this list?

One notable omission...

Whitney Houston.

Her version of "I Will Always Love You" is like torture.

CaptainScrewy 2009-01-05 05:29:50 PM
Amy Winehouse is a farkup, but she has a great voice.

D-O-single_G 2009-01-05 05:33:13 PM
I too, hate Christina's music with burning passion of 1000 white hot suns. Her voice, however, is nothing short of astounding. She missed her calling as an opera singer.

The writer's point is that she OVER-SINGS and I agree with him;
GREAT set of pipes but no notion of the concept of subtelty.

I would like to see her do jazz when she gets older and her voice takes on some shading.

Stickdeath 2009-01-05 05:39:46 PM
I can't believe that so many people would show up to a concert to hear Axl Rose sing a song that is ubiquitous throughout sports games, radio stations, and 3rd rate restaurants.

Mr. Slippyfist 2009-01-05 05:42:13 PM
Why would Mick Jagger be listed as overrated? I've never heard anyone say that he is gifted vocally, he just writes great songs and is arguably the best front man of all time.

I was trying to think of a Stones song and "Brown Sugar" stuck out. You could just barely qualify what Mick does throughout that song as singing but it works because he's Mick Farking Jagger.

I dont always like the lead singer of a band to sound like he spent 20 years in choir class.

That´s why I don´t like Agulera. She can sing, but I hate the type of singing in pop-music.

Ashtrey 2009-01-05 05:46:15 PM
Third_Uncle_Eno: Chris Martin seems like he has a hard time hitting notes correctly sometimes in concert.... he's sometimes flat [or is it sharp?]

Depends on which note he's aiming for.

John Buck 41 2009-01-05 05:46:53 PM
Pointless list w/o Mariah Carey. And several of the inclusions are dumb as fark, too.

nopokerface [TotalFark] 2009-01-05 05:47:37 PM
I must have missed Springsteen.

zunkus 2009-01-05 05:50:13 PM
Look, in no way, shape, or form am I a fan of Amy Winehouse but that cracked out hooker has an AMAZING voice.

dogbone 2009-01-05 05:50:30 PM
Someone please put Billy Corgan on this list...and then hit him in the face with a shovel.

How exactly is Mick Jagger overrated? Everyone knows he can't sing.

yeah...he's really highly thought of by most people and, thus, belongs on a MOST OVERRATED list

Smahtin' up!

You're an ass. Axl belongs nowhere near Freddie Mercury on any list of the best singers. Freddie Mercury was the best, and Axl is shiat.

TeddyRooseveltsMustache [TotalFark] 2009-01-05 06:20:47 PM
I agree with the list entirely. Mick Jagger seems to be talking his way through some of his songs. Perhaps he should just release a spoken word album, complete with a duet with William Shatner.

coffee fiend: I'm sorry, but Xtina has a great voice, absolutely great. I'm not a fan of her style of music, but the woman can sing.

This. Rest of the list was pretty much crap too. Actually, the fact that it was a "list" implies such.

You know who else talked his way through some most of his songs?
