Maybe, but I'm not leaving the shelter to find out.

I'm beginning to think Franken will win the race, as his sack seems big enough for two men...

Can't say they didn't count the votes. Democracy can be a goofy thing sometimes.

Personally, I hope Coleman keeps this in the courts until the term has expired.
I'd rather have nobody represent Minnesota than to allow that so-called comedian to have any actual power.
Minnesota is already the laughing stock of the nation for even considering Al Franken (D-ouche) as a senator.
/obviously they didnt learn their lesson from having Jesse Ventura running their government like a circus.

Ventura did some very smart things even though he was blocked on both sides most of the time. And as long as he did not talk, everything was fine.

I grew up in the district Bachman represents - you would be shocked by how many people that live there thinks she was railroaded by the Mainstream Media (tm). Its a farking screwy district.

(of course those same people think the guy who represents the district I now live in is a Muslim Terrorist)

Not this again. The vote was misreported on the Startribunes website which is where some idiot who wrote a foxnews column took it from with out properly validating it. The vote in question was awarded to Coleman and was properly recorded.

Next?

Coleman's term is expired, it expired yesterday(Jan 3rd) at noon. Right now Minnesota only as Amy Kloubacher as a sitting senetor.

Because, as has been stated repeatedly in threads you participate in, that was a duplicate ballot. The first 50 or 60 times I figured maybe you just hadn't heard the news, but now I'm starting to think you're just flat out lying.

I should have been clearer. The ballot Alient Robot continues to trot out thread after thread was originally challenged on the basis of being a possible duplicate, not for being unclear.

Halli: You know where someone pointed out to you that ballots weren't counted for Coleman because they were duplicates.

They were wrong in that assertion. Here's the Franken vote as awarded to Franken. It was challenged, not as a duplicate, but by Coleman as "voter intended to x out Franken vote." The vote was awarded to Franken. Here's the Coleman vote as "not awarded to anyone." It was challenged not as a duplicate, but by Franken as "not Coleman, is undervote." It was not awarded to anyone.

Completely wrong. Here's another:

img205.imageshack.us

Reason for the challenge? Not because it was a duplicate, but because the voter voted for Obama/Biden. "Voter intent" you see.

img165.imageshack.us

The Coleman vote was not awarded to anyone, because an Obama voter would never vote for Coleman!

Great. Now you just have to find 224 more sob story ballot cases to make any sort of real impact.

Or are you trying to avoid the whole 'counting' thing and hope we all just go with a general impression of who won?

/Remember how people felt about the Seahawks griping about the officiating in their Super Bowl loss?

The Why Not Guy: The ballot Alient Robot continues to trot out thread after thread was originally challenged on the basis of being a possible duplicate, not for being unclear.

That's BS. The x vote was challenged as "undervote" meaning Franken's side wanted the x to to be interpreted as an intent to remove the Coleman vote. As opposed to the x on the Franken vote where the Franken side wanted to count the x as just a stray mark that didn't invalidate the Franken vote at all.

VitalyC 2009-01-04 06:56:00 PM
Alien Robot, you have to look at the whole ballot. The one awarded to Franken had the same X through the presidential race choice, showing consistency and establishing that the X in this case was probably an emphasizing mark. The ballot counted for nobody has a line through the Coleman oval and nowhere else on the ballot. The canvassing board did not count it as an undervote because the voter voted for Obama, but because the best they could tell the voter was crossing out his/her vote for Coleman. It is misleading to compare these two ballots and claim they are the same.

It's true. Certain guys like him and GaryPDX make a habit out of perpetually lying and distorting facts to make things appear differently than they really are. Both guys seem smart enough to know what they are doing and also to know the truth, yet persist anyway as if they belabor under the false belief that if they propagandize enough on Fark then the world will re-write itself and everyone will start seeing things their way.
