I think the world has had quite enough of the Bush family, thanks.

I Said [TotalFark] 2009-01-04 04:42:44 PM
Thank you for your suggestion, Mr. President, yet we in the United States regret to inform you that we are no longer accepting applications from your children at this time.

We will be happy to keep this on file and, if in the future, we decide to shoot ourselves in the foot once more, you will be hearing from our representatives. Until that time we have decided to move in another direction.

Sincerely,

The United States of America

No more Bushes, no more Kennedys, no more Clintons. we are DONE with politicaly dynasties!

Weaver95: No more Bushes, no more Kennedys, no more Clintons.

And for good measure, no more Roosevelts. You never can be too careful.

In fact, if you get elected to an office higher than county clerk, your entire family should be ineligible for the next two generations. You may think I'm joking, but I'm not.

To be fair, the man does have grandkids so I think we'll need a blanket denial of application for this case

Jeb would have been better than GW this last eight years, but so would have the dude who played Corky on "Life Goes On".

AirForceVet [TotalFark] 2009-01-04 07:10:53 PM
Jeb Bush is as much of a crony and kiss-up to Christian fundies and such as his brother George is. Remember this nitwit governor, along with the Florida Legislature, the Republican Congress, and President Bush, made multiple attempts to "save" Terri Schiavo from having her feeding tube pulled.

/Lived not far from Terri's hospice in Pinellas Park.
//What a cluster fark that whole event was.

It's surprising that the founding fathers never put a provision against political dynasties in the constitution.

If that's who the people keep voting in, there's no inherent reason why we shouldn't. As long as the next president is not chosen by the sitting president, there isn't really anything that could be done.

I hope both George Bushes get to go be the guest of honor at war crimes trials. If it wasn't for the actions of the father, the crimes in Iraq committed by the son would not have been possible. And just how farking delusional are the Bushes? Or is it just unabashed evil?

I meant it when I said it in Hillary threads:

No more Bushes, no more Clintons.

Oh, and no more Kennedy's either. Enough with the ruling families schtick already. We fought a war against the British over that shiat, you know?

So, thank you for your suggestion Mr. President - but I think we'll pass.

You're right, it was all about Taxing Tea. The point is when it came time for the colonies to determine how to govern themselves going forward, the idea of a Divinely Endowed Family Ruling All wasn't the first nor preferable method.

They are one in the same.

Um, was this some kind of crossed signal from some alternate universe where the last eight years didn't trash the clan's reputation once and for all?

Jeb was a corrupt asshole in Florida. Just because his brother was less inscrutible doesn't mean he wouldn't be just as bad.

His name isn't Jeb...it's John Ellis Bush, so he actually chooses to be called "Jeb."

That disqualifies him right there.

I think my son would make an awesome ninja, but he's 4, doesn't know karate, and would probably end up chopping up my daughter if I gave him a sword... Fathers aren't necessarily the most impartial point of view.

Well now hold on there, Mr Mandrake. Are you implying that a member of the Bush family is adapting a faux-folksy tone in his manner, perhaps for some cynical political purpose? Feigning a sort of Regular Joe posture, in shameless denial of the lifetime of astonishing privilege he's actually led? Hm.

neilio42 2009-01-04 10:17:26 PM

[I'm channeling farkers here] Your son would suck as a ninja because your daughter is a horrible ninja herself. All siblings have the same ninja aptitude, just like jedis. Therefore, stop suggesting your son would be a good ninja.

Look up Fiorentino. Crony capitalism that would put his brother to shame. I guess "Heckuva job, Fiorentino" doesn't have the same ring, though.
