This is the guy all you Farkers were screaming for the position of SoS right? Couldn't have that "corrupt" Hillary taking the position, eh?

Farkers are about as good at politics as they are at economics, it seems.

I prefered this headline: Bill Richardson to withdraw his name from Commerce Secretary in Obama administration. NOBODY HISPANIC

Hillary was still a bad choice. Wait and see. It won't play out well.

Very interesting that you would be so quick to judge based on information that no farker would have. That's just stupid.

I agree with your judgment regarding economics, but no one knew this about Richardson, so, ya know, shut up.

worlddan 2009-01-04 03:02:27 PM
This is about the most disheartening news us New Mexicans could have gotten to start the new year. Just when we thought we were rid of that bastard for good, he comes back like stale beer in your throat in the middle of a hangover. Fark. Just fark. I hope he goes to jail and joins the rest of his corrupt cronies there.

What a shame...his performance as Secretary of Energy was stellar.

Oh shiat. Ok New Mexicans, fill us in on what this is all about. I have to say though, I know we don't know what this is about and it may turn out that there was no wrongdoing, but something has always turned me off about this guy. There's something used car salesman-ish about him.

If being secretary of commerce gets you Zooey Deschanel, well, then I submit my name for nomination. Granted, I'm not hispanic or even a minority but I'm all about being a secretary.

FTA: The Democratic officials said Richardson cited the distraction of a federal investigation into his ties to a California company that won municipal bond business in New Mexico after contributing money to various Richardson causes.

Every person he has been associated with in NM is already in the clink due to corruption charges. Willful blindness is not "no one knowing".

Just wait until they tie Richardson to Manny Aragon. NM Politics is more corrupt than it is in the beltway.

This man was Bill Richardson mentor in NM politics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Vigil

The Vigil family is one of the most powerful here in NM. This was Richardon's party boy.

Together, it was these two people that were instrumental in getting Richardson elected in the first place. Now, both are in the clink.

New Mexico is corrupt as hell. Everybody there knows it, and it was remarkable how fast it starting "cleaning up" when Richardson thought he might want to run for president.

I don't have a link, but the ABQ courthouse scandal is a good example. Classic "suitcase of money in the parking lot" kickbacks.

Also, I heard him speak once. He was an absolutely terrible public speaker.

Yea, and what's up with that huge vetting process Obama set up? Express form indeed. I am disappointed.

I smell a Clinton. This investigation has Clinton all over it. They had it out for Richardson ever since he switched to support Obama. At least he is not getting it as bad as "Meet the Press" Tim Russert.

Oddly enough, there IS a hillary/Rubin connection:

Shaggy_C: Politicians are easily corruptible. Democrat politicians are not exempt, no matter what Fark LiberalsTM might tell you.

except that I don't think Richardson is directly to blame here. If he's guilty of anything, it's trusting his staffers to behave themselves and not get into trouble. Rubin gave money to his PAC, not directly to Richardson. Believe it or not, that sort of thing can easily go unnoticed. part of the job of your staff is to look for these sorts of things and keep the boss outta trouble.

By who's definition of "well"? Most people already have their mind made up about Hillary one way or another, and whatever she does, no matter how good or how bad, some people (you?) will still say "it didn't go well".

Yawn.
