Israel should seek permission for every hostile action they plan on undertaking. The US pays for Israel's military and provides Israel with military technology and arms, so they should only use it when the US deems it necessary. Without the US, Israel would already be a part of Egypt, Jordan, etc. Israel is forever indebted to the US so they should only take military actions when it benefits the US.

These are the types of statements that get broadcast around the world and further fuel anti-Americanism, whether interpreted rightly or wrongly. Cheney has obviously never read "The Quiet American" or "The Ugly American" for that matter or else he would have been more careful about the words he chose to use.
