He never lets me laugh. Anytime I start to chuckle he shocks me. With electricity.

i was about to say... That i wasn't aware that "Old Joe Clark" even had lyrics, but it looks like he added them in.

i think he's pretty funny. And i think Sarah Silverman is amongst the most naturally funny in the entire industry. I guess its a certain sensibility you have to have to find her take on things, amusing.

Black, who recently starred in "Tropic Thunder" and the animated "Kung Fu Panda," had to be a bit tenacious to land a last-minute supporting role when his father-in-law...

I would answer your question but I'm attempting to limit my conversations with Non-Champion Quality folks to notifications that I won't answer their questions.

Why yes, yes he has. For instance, I laughed, and since I count as anyone, then it is validated.

//Sara Silverman, still not funny

This guy is funnier than Sara Silverman, but then, so are menstrual cycles. Seriously, it's not my intent to hate on the guy, but I really don't understand how his entertainment career went beyond high school musicals.

Why all the hate on Sarah Silverman?

You have to admire a girl that can have a relationship with a guy with Down's Syndrome. (or at least one that looks like he has it: kimmel=tard)

Jack Black's role in Tropic Thunder was under-utilized. The skinny kid that didn't get mentioned in any of the advertisements had a bigger role.

Long Live The D.

Slu 2009-01-02 03:04:25 PM
Sarah Silverman is funny if you think funny is a woman yelling "Vagina" or "Period" over and over.

And the D is funny. So Jack Black gets a pass on everything else as far as I am concerned.

Agreed. Tenacious D's 1st album and live shows (unfortunately not their movie) are some of the funniest stuff I've seen/heard.

And Kung Fu Panda was surprisingly fun! So suck it, Jack Black haters.

I would love to stick Dane Cook's head up Jimmy Fallon's asshole, and then set them both on fire and watch them die slowly.

The best thing (read: the last thing) that I've seen him in was "Margot at the Wedding". He didn't blow. The movie could have been better...

I second this. Sarah Silverman was funny just about as long as Dane Cook was funny, which was for like 3 minutes while I was drunk and baked flipping through basic cable.

I would also like to see Jack Black and Jack White do a version of 'Ebony and Ivory'

Mentalpatient87 2009-01-02 08:03:11 PM
Sarah Silverman was funny on Greg the Bunny, when she had an actual role as a person, not a poop-joke machine caged inside an unattractive biatch.

Treefingers 2009-01-03 04:49:23 AM
The D will forever reign supreme. JB as an actor... not so much (I don't even know why Sarah Silverman was brought up to begin with).

Singing like and angel makes up for Mr. Black's awful acting/role choice. However, I wouldn't be doing the D any favors without repping Kyle Gass (I.e. rage, kage, ragekage) as the supreme musician that truly makes the D what it is.

I would like to hear this bluegrass

//and even though he's fat and ugly, Jack Black should have married ME.

Can't wait to see him being all deadly earnest and over-the-top while playing Americana like he was in the smash hits Orange County, School of Rock and Fat Girl Looks Thin To CRAZY FUNNYMAN Guy Who Learns A Lesson That Beauty Is Only Skin Deep.

sunlion 2009-01-05 03:43:54 AM
For decades I wanted to try a bluegrass festival, and finally did a few years ago. I wasn't a fan of bluegrass. But I had one of the most enjoyable times of my life, heard music that blew me completely away, and met a lot of really great people. I saw mandolin players who brought to mind people like Steve Vai, and heard bluegrass versions of everything from reggae to death metal songs. It's also one of the most generation-bridging scenes I've ever seen. I strongly recommend such gatherings to anyone with any curiosity about bluegrass (the one I went to was Appalachian Uprising (new window) in southern Ohio). As Joe Bob would say, "check it out."
