They actually have to win an election to get the seat.

Kelbel: They actually have to win an election to get the seat.

And just how do you suppose candidates "win" elections in Illinois?

For the seat, I'm willing to pay B-Rod two fiddy and a jawbreaker.

Remove all Republicans: Kelbel: They actually have to win an election to get the seat.

In economic times like this, it's just a waste of money. Blago should just look to see if there's a Daley available and declare him the winner. The Daleys are Chicago royalty.

That is true. He should appoint Mayor Daley, then appoint Mike Ditka mayor of Chicago. He might be a Republican but it would be the only way to placate Chicago on the loss of a Daley. But Ditka would by himself remove all corruption from Republican politics. That is because he is Ditka.

Becoming Mayor would be a step down for Ditka. Besides, he's got his hands full saving Chuck Norris all the time.

Of course, a key subplot in the Obama story, is how he is drawing much of his team from leading roles in congress. That will disrupt things, at the least, and possibly tip the scales in some otherwise closely-fought issues.

I assume then that whomever bids closest to the actual retail price of the House seat wins it, then gets a chance to win a lovely new dining room group, right?

Mike Ditka took a dump and it became Chuck Norris.
