Let me just say this, you know, the real political tragedy, the real political issue, the moral issue that we face is why in the US Senate there are no African-Americans? There are two Asians, three Latinos, 11 women, but no African-Americans.

Why does America hate African-Americans?

Dysfunction has been front and center in the Democratic Party this year. And yet, the right still got an electoral beat down.

If Burris did nothing wrong, he should take his seat. By all indications, Burris is a civil rights pioneer and a generally good guy.

Gutless cowards like Harry Reid and Barack Obama seek to discriminate against Burris based on nothing except bias.

Rod Blagojevich is a lousy guy, but if being supported by Blagojevich is grounds for banishment from the Senate, then Barack Obama would never have become a Senator.

What Blagojevich is accused of doing isn't good. But in the scheme of things, it takes two to tango. After the Obama team doublecrossed Blagojevich by working with him to buy a Senate seat and snitching, it appears that judging by Blagojevich's superb appointment, the Obama team is the problem here when it came to integrity.

Bobby Rush isn't saying anything radically different than what Jeremiah Wright said. So I don't know what you Obamacrats are so fussy about. Rush is generally lousy, as you would expect a Black Panther to be. But he's an Obamacrat and he's your problem.

Illinois has had one working Senator since early 2007, it's time for them to have their full representation.

Chairman Obama snitched? Come on, all the Dems in Ill knew their Gov was buying and selling. Obama had to know, so he was just trying to protect himself after his staff made many many contacts to fix the seat selection.

All you have to look at here is who where Selecties 1-5.

Geeeeeeeeeeeee

U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush said just three weeks ago that Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has "no moral basis" to appoint someone to fill Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat -- a stark contrast to his endorsement of Blagojevich's appointment on Tuesday.

Rush joined Blagojevich at his press conference in Chicago to support the pick of Roland Burris, a former state attorney general. Rush said Burris, who is black, would fill the racial void left by Obama as the only black member of the U.S. Senate.

"This is a good decision. Roland Burris is worthy. He has not, in 40 years of public service, had one iota of taint on his record as a public servant," Rush said.

But the Democratic congressman from Illinois expressed a different view on Dec. 9, the day Blagojevich was arrested and accused of trying to sell Obama's seat.

"His goose is cooked," Rush said of the governor. "He has no moral basis for appointing the next senator from the state of Illinois. ... That person would be as tainted as they could be."

Rush said Blagojevich should not make an appointment, and he added that anybody he appoints would be at a "severe disadvantage" when it comes time to run for election in 2010.

On Tuesday, Rush urged the public not to "hang and lynch" Burris simply because he was appointed by Blagojevich.

Blagojevich needs to be run over by a Merkava tank.

Just saying.

I live in IL so let me be first to say the following. Whoever Blagojevich picks for the seat, will NOT be accepted by the people or the state. If Burris tries to fight his way in, he will never be able to win anything ever again in this state. Sadly it seems he is still trying to get in like this and losing credibility ever step of the way.

I do admit it is funny to watch these people crash and burn because of greed and power getting to their heads. All while you have people losing their jobs due to bad business practices & having more than enough time on their hands to pay closer attention to local politics. Add the fact the president elect is from the same state causing global media attention, check the BBC news. You now have a good ticket to ending of politcal careers.

I just saw on my local channel some radio show interview regarding this and almost spit out my drink. Rush's stated reason for switching is because the proposed individual is an African-American. No, nevermind that you railed against corruption before he was announced, apparently race trumps corruption.

All of the news anchors were flabbergasted, even black guy who reported the story (rightly so, excellent job for him not following Rush). So fark the race card, after dealing with Jesse Jackson's crap for so many years, and now Sharpton (he's setting up an 'office' in North Chicago), we don't need this shiat here.
