So some Brit writes about the worst of America? Worry about your own country, I certainly could care less about any of your a-holes, and you probably have quite a list.

Kazuya 2008-12-31 07:45:30 AM
Meh, list suck. I'm sure there's some American out there that raped a lot of kids in 2008 but if the list maker started going down that route the list wouldn't have that celebrity zing to it.

Personally I think Dupree is worse than Spritzer but thats just my 2 cents.

Did you even read the first paragraph? It's quite obvious the author is an American.

RTFA, he's American, he's the Guardian's correspondent in Washington or something. That said, his list had some problems.
For one, Blagojevich should have been higher than Palin, Bush should only have made a token cameo, and a lot of other stuff didn't make it on.

Seth'n'Spectrum 2008-12-31 07:55:20 AM
FTFA: This would be rather like Lavrenti Beria insisting that Lubyanka prison was actually a hotel.

I lol'd. Because this type of shiat happens.

I'd rather have a conversation with some douchebag who cheated on his cancer ridden wife than a high functioning retard who thinks the world is 6000 years old.

Since Asteroth already pointd out the problem with the phrasing "junior governer" I will not dwell on that, subby. So here is why John Edwards barely even deserves to be on that list.

John Edwards stuck his penis into someone he wasn't supposed to. People do this all the time. Most of the time no one care about this except the person who is usually getting stuck by said penis. And it is really no one's business except the possessor of said penis, his wife, and the person who he was sticking it in. It has no effect whatsoever on his abilities or policies (though, admittedly, it does show a certain lack of taste and decorum, considering his wife's illness... even if personally I don't have an issue with a guy getting it on the side if his wife is indisposed as long as he is discreet).

When a governer makes clear that it is his intention to sell a political position, it is a shame to the entire democratic process. It casts a taint upon his subsequent choice. It besmirches everyone who has or had dealings with him. It is an affront to the people of his state, and since it affects the US Senate, it affects every single person in the country. Our entire nation is built upon the democratic ideal, so when an elected official starts treating the US senate like an eBay auction, it is really an insult to every American who has ever participated in the democratic process.

Bush should be number one. He singlehandedly pissed off the world, farked the economy of the wealthiest nation on the whole damn planet, and turned the next generation into a bunch of retards.

In at least one obvious way, 2008 was a pretty good year in my country. We made history in electing an African-American president. I and 67 million of my fellow citizens brought the era of conservative dominance to a thundering close. For those of us who've been told for eight years that we weren't real Americans - liberals, urbanites, non-believers, cabernet-sippers, same-sex lovers, anti-war-mongerers, Volvo drivers - well, the tables have turned. We're the real Americans now.

Yes, I can see how the first paragraph of the article would have lead you to believe he was British.

I don't believe anyone will ever question your critical thinking skills.

Maybe you should explain why he's a sellout, first, skippy.

(Not arguing the douchebg part...while I agree with most of his picks, he does come across as...well...a person who would order a vinigar and water.)

Of course, trying to sell a Senate seat shows an even larger lack of judgement and character.

The "junior governor" is Palin, not Blago. If not for that, you might have appeared to have made an intelligent post. As to Edwards, if you don't find his conduct contemptible, well, then there isn't any way you'd understand.

Still peddling resentment?

Your posts are predictable as clockwork. Insult poster, feign moral indignation, smugly dismiss.

Best part is you think posting that garbage is insightful.

Not so fast.

John Edwards is a trial lawyer who made millions suing doctors and hospitals for alleged birth injuries. He is the epitome of one of the major problems with health care in the U.S. and the American legal system.

He deserves a permanent spot. I could care less that he is cheating scumbag who acts holier than thou.

Fair enough about my amusing misidentification of which governer (both are on the list) subby was referring to. I grew up outside New York City, so pretty much every other state is rural to me (though I did admit to thinking "the state with Chicago is rural, really?"). :)

But I was referring to the scope of the damage each person on the list has done, and the number of people it affects. Yes, it was tasteless for John Edwards to be indiscreet about fooling around on his wife who was dealing with a life threatening illness. But tasteless is minor, a speck in the grand scheme of things, and affects almost no one other than his wife. Selling a US Senate seat (or trying to) so far outweighs a sexual piccadillo that I do find myself offended that Edwards (and Spitzer too, for that matter) are even on the list...

Don't you think that the spouses of Spitzer and Edwards would have been happier if their husbands' deeds hadn't been uncovered, and then dragged through the national media?

DarnoKonrad 2008-12-31 08:20:50 AM
Phil Herup: I barely had one cup of coffee in me.

Is that a substitute for being literate? Take this to heart:

. . . the proto-fascist nativism, the know-nothingism, the utterly cavalier lack of knowledge . . .

Pretty good descriptor of your regular shtick ain't it?

Wow, you off the meds again? Best part is, your post was absolutely non-relevent to anything. Was I wrong? Was the "junior governor" mentioned not Palin? Did the poster not make a stupid error? Are you not still just an ass?

But I gotta love the irony of someone calling be out for being resentful and insulting by being resentful and insulting. The comedy you unintentionally provide is the only thing that keeps you from being entirely pointless.

That's kind of fair. Though I would argue that his focus on helping the plight of the poor, and his dedicating his efforts towards eliminating poverty and hunger in our counttry prove that he has some good qualities in there as well...

The Edwards thing is douchey mostly because the cancer-wife story was part of the endearment strategy of his campaigns. When he was asked about the affair, he brought up his wife's cancer in his denial.

Believe what you want about adultery, but "But My Wife Has Cancer" as a campaign plan is up there with trying to sell a Senate seat and $50 billion swindlers.

And yeah, the Santa killer rates higher than Palin -- but this guy mostly seems fixated on Republicans, Democrats who dare to like Republicans, and Democrats who screw up so bad it could have resulted in Republicans getting in office.

Of all the New York political targets to attack, he has the time to pick on a) the tediously obvious target Spitzer, and b) a failed VP candidate and hack ex-congresswoman who ran her trap for the TV talking heads in a manner that displeased him, and then vanished from the radar.

The name Charlie Rangel doesn't ring a bell with this hack?

What's wrong with cheating on a cancer-ridden wife? Her health is in the dumpster and her interest in (and maybe even her ability to have) sex more or less gone. And, you're expected to stay by her side and be supportive until she dies - which can take YEARS.

Get some on the side, just be respectful and don't get caught, don't ever let anyone know. Also, this doesn't apply for cancers with a high survival rate... then you man up and tie a knot in it for a year.

Yes with Newt you have to add the hypocrisy of the Clinton blow job witch hunt and the shiat he was drooling while that was going on.

He was betraying his wife out of selfish lust and his country out of selfish spite, Edwards was "only" betraying his wife.
