Best way to raise those oil prices back up is to rile up another war in the region.

Did anyone ever think this crap in Israel and Gaza was about something other than oil?

Both sides did some nasty stuff over the years, and each side feels justified due to the others nastyness.

It's a good thing that there wasn't a US Embassy to try and storm. There would have been allot of holy students. You can read that however you want...

Taser them all and throw them in a room. Think of it as catch and release without the release. Or rather, release them somewhere in the middle of one of the many deserts out there.

Israel/Palestine
India/Pakistan
Iran/The West
Kim Jong Il/The voices in his head

Looks like all we need is for Ole Kim to kick up the dickens and we might just have us a four way tie!

Yes

Was oil that important at the time of the Balfour declaration? Was oil that important in 1948? Is there a lot of oil in the Gaza strip? The world is not as simple as you would like it.

How dare these people raise their voices in protest at what they consider illegal, immoral actions!

Watch for more of this to happen, the longer Israel is on their latest incursion, the more American and British embassies around the world will face protests.

They're essentially alone in the world in not calling for restraint from Israel.

That's a good question. Israel/Palestine have been in a level of mild retardation for some time. My money has always been on India/Pakistan for full retard. I see a conventional conflict lasting for 2 weeks before someone gets spooked and presses the button resulting in MAD because neither one has enough time to verify the threats due to their proximity. They have to launch when they detect a threat or they lose their deterrence.

Although it's not much of a deterrence anymore when the other side has already launched.

Or nothing will happen. Whatever.

Nothing to see here, move along.

FTFA: Tehran, Iran (AHN) - Iranian students, outraged at the United Kingdom's support for the ongoing Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip, briefly stormed the British Embassy in Tehran before police forced them from the residence.

In what respeckt, Gumercules?

Why would Israel want to increase profits of their Arab neighbors, all of whom are dedicated to their destruction?

How does that benefit Israel, who is the one actually engaged?

You "Middle East Wars are all about oil" types are really a one-trick pony. And it's pretty funny when you attribute everything that happens to this inanimate substance.

He is a jackass, the only oil this would be about would be the oil not getting through the blockade.

But it's mostly because Hamas would rather strut and act tough then make a pragmatic peace for their people.

A Gandhi style approach might work but randomly murdering civilians isn't going to do anything except make the angry idiots feel a false sense of strength while those they should be protecting suffer inevitable reprisals.

The selfish violence of Hamas is a terrible burden for their people.

Restraint??? Restraint?? Seems to me that Israel has done NOTHING but show restraint.

Imagine if Greenland kept lobbing rockets at Canada - nevermind, bad example...Canadians are infamous for being tough guys on ice, but pussies on the world stage.

You "Middle East Wars are all about oil" types are really a one-trick pony. And it's pretty funny when you attribute everything that happens to this inanimate substance.

Israeli "over reaction" is going to get the entire Muslim population of the region into an uproar. This instability will cause the price of oil to go up on fears that there will be a larger war in the region. As oil prices go back-up the Iranians start having increased income and revenues again, Russia returns to a stronger financial footing, more money goes into the region in the form of Russian and Iranian support for their military proxies (Syria, Lebanon, Hamas, etc) causing more threat to Israel which in turn gets more money from the US government to buy more military hardware from US companies who are all owned or are part of larger conglomerates with their hands in Media, Oil, Electronics, tc. Durign times of crisis news consumption increase... All of this in turn puts more money directly into the pockets of the Oil companies that have untold influence in the Government of all the countries concerned and who also happen to be part of all the other benefitting companies.
It's war. It's a Racket. Always has been.

It's pretty simple really once you stop listening to what the "Left" and "Right" want you to think about it.
