(Gigwise) Interesting Guns N' Roses planning two year tour. And by "Guns N' Roses" we mean Axl with a bunch of nobodies and by 2 years we mean a month's worth of shows that are going to start 5 hours late, cause riots and ultimately be cancelled   (gigwise.com) divider line 29

GNR peaked with 'The Spaghetti Incident.' Axl should have retired when he was on top.

This guy makes Metallica look like a class act.

Like Metallicas music, don't like some of em as people.

Erm, indeed. I am loving the new GnR album, wether it's really GnR or not.

And while I'm at it, let me mention that they totally butchered that Avril Lavigne 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' song. Why she allowed them to record that song is a mystery to me.

I'm a member of the semi-shamed that also like the new album. It is actually quite good if you listen to it.

I actually had tickets to see them in kansas city, but it was cancelled ('90) after the riot in St Louis destroyed all their equipment.

Is Tommy Stinson part of it?

Tommy Stinson is not nobody.

Tommy Stinson is cool.

I like the "Love Tour" idea of them playing for free in the places they already cancelled/no-showed at.

Neo-Gn'R sucks almost as much as original Gn'R.

The last time he played my town (Montreal), he was like 4 hours late, biatched and moaned, and left within 20 minutes, starting riot ,looting and the stadium looked like it was going to burn down

oh yeah, and James Hetfield roasted his hand

on the upside Faith No More got to play like 30 mins.

How the hell does Axl Rose still have any money left at all?

Not heard the former, desperately tried to avoid the latter when they were around.

"November Rain" still makes me want to destroy whatever machine is playing it.

Having tired of Rose's antics LONG ago, I never even thought to listen to his new music. This isn't GNR, there is no way to recapture the talent of Slash, Duff, etc by hiring nobodies.

Anywho...has anyone listened to the new music? Is it any good?

I guarantee the tour will be canceled after a few months in due to "health" or "voice issues" but obviously not the true reason of no one buying tickets.

GnR still sells 10,000 cds a week not counting the new one.

I came here to say that Tommy Stinson isn't a nobody but I see you've already taken care of that.

Rockstar Games probably paid him out the ass for doing voiceover work for GTA: San Andreas. That, selling cocaine.

The new music would be good if they released it during the early '90s. It's nothing that special but if you're nostalgic for the days of rock before grunge, it'll do. But it's nothing to wait nearly two decades for.

Yes, if by 'The Spaghetti Incident' you mean 'Appetite for Destruction'. In the spirit of the headline and all...

So with the way the labels structure things financially, that's like a hunnert bucks a week for the 5 of them (or whatever). Mmmm...shiatty basement apartment.

I just finished reading the new GNR biography Watch You Bleed. It is one of the worse books I have ever read. It seemed like the writer only did his research from watching old mtv interviews and vh1 specials. And it's filled with just obvious factual errors (Paul Stanley is KISS' bassist, Jimi Hendrix burned his Les Paul and literally hundreds more).

Read Slash's autobiography instead, that book is awesome.

Also same. Band history doesn't really affect my enjoyment of the music.

On that same note, I was skimming thru one of those rare guitar books at B&N the other day and came across an entry about "James Hatfield, lead guitarist for Megadeth"

The writer clearly knew his stuff.
