I don't like country music, but the man transcends that. I've got to see him in concert before he passes.

Ill never smoke weed with Willie again^

He's also one of the best guitarists in country music but rarely gets any recognition for this fact.

Most 75-year-olds need to have the question repeated half a dozen times without the benefit of reefer. Cut the man some slack.

I met Willie after booking him for a show. The nicest guy - and he does smoke joints like cigarettes... and is very generous.

This was about7-8 years ago, but he seemed pretty sharp for as much smoke as he weeded.

Also - because he didn't want to - I got to ride in a blimp thanks to Willie Nelson. Awesome.

A-farkin-men!

The guy wrote "Crazy".

That's pretty much enough to make him one of the best, even if he never did another thing.

I'm not much of a country fan, but Patsy Cline's performance of that song is just great. You don't have to be a country fan to think so.

Some of you people might like to have an occasional reefer in the privacy of your own home but as long as it is illegal I will do everything in my...uh.. my power to....uh.....to...hey, are those donuts?

He also wrote "Night Life".

Dad took us all the to old Arlington Stadium in 1969 to see Ray Price, Willie was his bass player at the time.

Did you hear the one about one time he came home drunk passed out and his wife sewed on up in the sheets and then beat him with a broom handle?

i knew he was a stoner, but I didn't know he smoked that much.

I like him even better.

Great writer? Absolutely. Nice guy? Yeah, from what I've heard. His singing is ok; certainly as good as your average guy. Not crazy about his guitar but maybe he does some technical things that guitar players can appreciate. (I'm not one). One of the blander concerts I've ever been to.

Saw him in CT this last tour and it was a blast. See him while you can.

Well, to be fair, I saw him in '88. Maybe he's gotten better.

Willie is one of the greatest songwriters of all time. In addition, whenever I have seen him play concerts, he plays for about 3 hours non-stop. No breaks, no intermission, just jam jam jam.

I commend him for his dedication to not only music but changing the world.

Maybe that's why I didn't like the show. Too Grateful Dead-ish.

The scene added to it. It was me and my buddy in a room filled with NE rednecks and old people. We were getting strange glances from both until the hippies started dancing, then we were in the clear. Then these super drunk guys started dancing with gross older women. The music was fun and it was making the scene so much funnier. My buddy and I had a blast at least.

I saw him at that same show. What a show and what a party of a show it was. Was up real close to the front of the stage and people were nuts.

THIS! Bob and Tom suck. Laughing at your own jokes: a) does not make me laugh and b) is quite annoying.

Dude got a black belt a few years ago. He's remarkably healthy for a stoner.

A lot of people want to travel the world, see every state. I'd like to try and survive a year on the road with Willie. I burn every day, but I doubt I could hang with the big dog.

/Sure would be fun trying
// Maybe Obama will let him go on the White House roof again for old times sake

It's a real shame that when the masses hear the name Willie Nelson, they think of the tax bullshiat and weed. Such a travesty, but I reckon that's mainstream media for you. Willie has done more for the music of this world than most people could ever dream of, and influenced musicians of all genres. He is an amazing songwriter, wonderful storyteller, and has been a part of so many changes in the world. I would have killed to have spent some time with him, Johhny, Chris, and Waylon back in the day, just to sit back and listen to their insights about the world. Who gives a dickshiat about him smoking weed, or that he got in trouble YEARS ago about his taxes?? The man is a living legend...

/ Going to listen to RHS now
// Screw it, then I'm going to listen to Stardust.

Great song writer/singer/performer but there is no difference between his getting high every day and someone getting loaded every day.

Addiction is addicition.

I wonder what's wrong in his life that makes him want to escape it so much.

I forget who it was said they were talking to Willie (it was a celeb) and he was smoking so much weed she PASSED OUT from the smoke.

It was a couple years ago.

I'm sure he inhales for medical reasons... like Glaucoma or something or other.

/Loves the story about him going back in his burning house to recover only one thing... His guitar case that held his precious Trigger guitar and his stash of weed. Where did I see that again...? oh yeah..

i love willie nelson!! so does my mom. we've seen him 15 times and met him 6. he signs autographs for what seems like forever, and loves his fans. when he was in topeka last, we tried to get backstage to meet him (again) at every friggin door with a new lie for security. mom tried to claim that i was his illegitimate daughter, we tried "candy-gram mr. nelson," damned security, they know our faces.

he patted my mom's belly when she was preggers with me and he was filming in vegas.

he is and always will be the man.

It's a disappointment. You should have seen him 10+ years ago. His current tour blows doggie balls.

/if the man didn't smoke pot, he would be irrelevant, imho

Now here's a man who is an inspiration to pot smokers everywhere. He's high almost everyday and still had a hand in writing almost every major country hit of the past 30 years or more! My hats off to him!!
