Underrated. Got to see them a few times along the way and in its, original incarnation, one of the best live bands I've seen.

Saw them with Exodus and Helloween opening on the Headbangers Ball tour in '88 or so. Awesome show. My ears are still ringing from it.

Careful about that "original incarnation" statement, or you'll piss Neil Turbin off :P

Seriously though, I've never had a chance to see them live back in the day, but every video and live recording I've seen/heard agrees with your statement: amazing live act. You know why? They're having FUN on stage, and it shows. So many musicians don't think of that when they take themselves so seriously.

I would pay big bucks to see an Anthrax/Belladonna reunion

a little off topic but any idea when a new Anthrax album is to be released?

/saw them live with Belladona
//and John Bush
///Both kicked ass

The only time I've ever had backstage passes were to the show Anthrax played with Public Enemy at the Air Force Academy back in the early 90's. My goofy 16-year-old self had my very first beer with a wasted Scott Ian before we got booted out. Good times.

/Primus opened that night, and completely stole the show.
//Favor Flav is the most insane person I've ever met

Yeah, sorry about that. As for fun on stage, I agree. Two of my favorite bands/live acts are Rush (very efficient and workman like and rarely look like it's fun) and Iron Maiden (in the days BD was on the outs it was somewhat boring but on this last tour having fun again) and it's never "bad" but sometimes better than others. A band needs to have as much fun as the crowd or it doesn't work.

Maiden/Anthrax: Providence RI 1992. Farking amazing!

Saw Anthrax at L'Amour's on Long Island many times back in the day. Good times.

that was all awesome ,wow

saw them sometimes around 87 or 89 ,that "clash of the titans" tour with slayer and megadeth. They closed the show and they were really farking awesome , i would think anything after slayer would be a let down , oh no not so.

I was so into this album. It seemed like it was right up there with Master of Puppets at the time, at least in my neck of Idaho. "Indians" was the video that got me into hardcore metal or thrash or whatever I may have called it (Metallica notwithstanding). We used to mosh to this stuff at house parties.

I saw them at the Slayer Clash of the Titans, I saw them open for Maiden, and then I saw them 2 or 3 years ago on the Belladonna reunion tour, where they were pretty anticlimactic, which I blame partially on their (Ian's) dragging their names through the mud with all the drama. I never got into the Bush years, though I've got a couple albums, and they're cool and all....

I met Scott Ian once and he was a major dickweed. I've meet a lot of rock stars, most are super cool. Scott on the other hand, refused to sign my cd or even say more then "no" to me. It was a major disappointment. On the other hand Dave Mustaine of Megadeth is as friendly as they come. I literally ran into him outside our building. He was walking looking down and I was opening a side door and SMACK, I walked right into him. He was by himself and didn't act like a spoiled rock star. I guess if I were Scott I'd be pissed too, he was playing a dinky little bar that night that hardly anyone showed up for.

Way back in the dark past (1985-ish) I was going to see at show at L'Amour in Brooklyn. Coming from the Island I had to take the train into Penn, then hopped on the subway to go meet a friend of mine in Queens, then we were gonna head to L'Amour. While I was waiting for him in a subway station in Queens Joey and Charlie wandered on by, then Scott. I was star-struck, couldn't say a thing just pointed and stammered. My buddy showed up a couple of seconds later and told me he just saw Anthrax, I told him I did too. He laughed at me and called me a loser for not talking to them.
