Yeah, isn't there some established limit to how long a person can be expected to survive without water?

I heard on average that it was 3 days, but I could well be wrong there.

Depends on external conditions of course, so the 3 day average may not be too far off. It all comes down to how much energy you consume and how exposed you are to dehydration. In a desert, you're farked, but in a mild climate where you stay prone you can survive for at least a week.

Yeah, I guess I'd just be surprised (if the 10 day period turns out to be true) on how much it can vary.

On another note - 10 days, tied up in a car boot. Time would both gain meaning for every agonising minute that drags by and lose meaning as they all drift together.

/not a pleasant imagining, I shall grab another beer and focus on other things...

Well she obviously wasn't eating either, which means she was likely living off of stored fat reserves, and when your body is burning fat, a byproduce of that chemical reaction is water, which would have extended the survivability point with regard to dehydration.

So don't say being a fat ass never saved anyone.

Sometimes they're covered in too much vomit to actually put them IN the car.
The trunk/boot will do in a pinch.

I switched to a higher octane and over the next couple weeks the knocking got quieter and stopped. The car smelled kind of funny on the new gas but the detailer fixed that. He sure gave me a funny look though when I picked the car up.

I thought knocking boots with a nurse would be awesome.
/had a daydream about it once or twice

Well, I can't blame the guy for killing a nurse or two. I heard he was looking for his little girl Cheryl. By the way, have you seen her?

Why does the article say anything about winter temperatues if this is in Austalia? It's summer in the southen hemisphere. It can't be Edinburgh, Scotland because it's dated Dec.29. WTF?

She was discovered in her vehicle in the town of Airdrie, east of Glasgow by British police. i.e. Scotland

Officers smashed the car windows to get to the boot.
If that wasn't a hatchback, the police are doing it wrong.

Well, a lot of times you can get into the trunk by pulling out the back seat. If you don't have the keys to the trunk, it's much easier than trying to pick the lock or using the "jaws of life". Personally, I would have shot the lock open with my service revolver.

It's time for another round of British words that mean something different in America:

Britain: To America:
Boot = Trunk
Bonnet = Hood
Hood = Folding soft top (on a convertible)

...and there you have it.

i think maybe it is supposed to loop around. like this...

Boot = Trunk
Bonnet = Hood
Hood = Folding soft top (on a convertible)
Folding soft top (on a convertible) = Boot
