Nicely done, submitter.

I don't see how the fire could be under his fire place. Also, I'm a bit clueless about what we are voting on.

It could have been a menorah. Do we know if he's Jewish or not?

Unlike Sammy Davis, Jessie jr is only part Jewish.

Knowing the intelligence level we're dealing with in Illinois politicians, I'm sure there's an email server somewhere that has all the relevant information the prosecutors need.

FTFA: "The origin of the fire was underneath the main fireplace in the residence"

What does this mean? The only thing one usually finds underneath a fireplace is stone.

It depends on his audience.

Depending on how elaborate the fireplace is, there could be a dump chute for ashes to a (hopefully) non-flammable container in the basement. However, if someone had put trash in there that would be a problem. Or storing wrapped stacks of used large denomination currency in there. Honey? Have you seen my graft?

Damn you small fascist fires! You start yourselves to mislead the public into believing that shenanigans are a-foot.

our republican friends would know nothing about paper shredders. (;

Bush,Inc doesn't use email for the very reason that it leaves a trail that he can't shred.

Maybe he stored cash under the fireplace and it went up accidentally. Oh wait, that was another story and it was stored in a freezer.

Shredded paper can be scanned and reconstructed with modern investigative software.

/no idea if that's true but seems likely.

It's very true. Due to this, as noted in this article that ran in the NY Times five years ago, even the possibility of manual reconstruction "helped convince the United States government to update its procedures for destroying documents. The expanded battery of techniques now includes pulping, pulverizing and chemically decomposing sensitive data. Yet these more complex methods are not always at hand in an emergency, which is why the vagaries of de-shredding will be of interest to intelligence officials for some time to come."
