I've been to several concerts, the most recent one was the best. The party in the parking lot is fantastic, the people are all having a great time!!!

It's a little escape from reality, and a huge party with lots of folks drinking and enjoying life.

If you don't like his music so what? Some say it's not fantastic, but I really love going to the concerts and having a great time!

The haters in here make me sad and angry. I am a self-confessed music snob, and I love Jimmy Buffett. There, I said it. He has a completely unique musical niche that can be imitated but never duplicated. I have no idea what the hate is based on. His tours make an absolute mint and he has never kowtowed to Nashville. He's the real deal.

I get a kick out of how in any thread about Jimmy Buffet, Family Guy, Bono, hybrid cars, etc, so many people smugly quote South Park, a show known for pointing out how smug other people can be.

That aside, I'm pretty ambivalent towards Buffet. I don't like his stuff, nor do I hate it, but he's overplayed in certain situations and I can understand why others might hate him.

meh, his music's not all that bad, it's just... the parrotheads. They're kind of scary. They have the same cult vibe that weight watchers groups do. Am I the only one who notices this?

Went to Margaritaville once at Universal Orlando, they were playing a song that said "they don't play grunge and they don't play it loud." I decided I didn't care for this Buffett character after that.

But I hear he mentions the Florabama in one song and I know he was friends with Hunter Thomspon, both of those are pretty cool in my book.

Jimmy Buffet's niche is pretty much based on some much needed escapism for the over-worked American middle class office dweller. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

/Not to mention the fact that his concerts are pretty much the biggest parties you'll ever see.

I think all of the haters in this thread needs to move to the Keys for a couple of years, relax, drink a couple of rumrunners, have a beer at Captain Tony's and enjoy Jimmy's music where it all originated.
