According to Wikipedia:

Psyche may refer to:

* Psyche (psychology), the original Greek conception of the self
o Soul or Self (psychology) or Mind
* Psyche (band), a Canadian dark synthpop band
* Psyché, a French tragedy-ballet of 1671 and opera of 1678
* Psyche (album), the 1994 album by PJ & Duncan AKA, now known as Ant and Dec
* 16 Psyche, an asteroid
* Danielle Moonstar, comic book character
* Cupid and Psyche, figures in Greek mythology
* the Psyche butterfly, Leptosia nina
* A code name for Red Hat Linux 8.0

I'm guessing you meant the French tragedy-ballet.

Kind of interesting, and leads to a few questions.

How did the dirtbag get past the process of investigation into whether his application for a pardon had merit?

Can a pardon, once given, be rescinded?

Or was the pardon only announced yesterday, but not signed and official yet?

FTA: A story in the New York Daily News said Toussie's father, Robert, donated $28,500 to the national Republican Party in April. It was his first political donation and came just months before Toussie's pardon petition, the newspaper said.

"Pardon me, Mr. President...about that check...I'd like to rescind it."

yeah, totally. There could be a lot of impropriety here, or there could be none. But either way the dad should ask for the money back.

Toussie, 36, was sentenced to five months in prison and a $10,000 fine on Sept. 22, 2003, as well as three years of supervised released conditioned on five months of home detention for selling overpriced land to Suffolk County and several home buyers...

So he already served his time? This is just one of those pardons to clear his record or something? 5 mos. in prison and three years probation is pretty minor shiat. Or has he been appealing the whole time and not gone to jail yet?

So many questions...

The counsel's office generally doesn't include vetting of political contributions in its reviews on such matters, as that would be "highly inappropriate on many levels," she said.

So it's inappropriate to seek the information, but if it appears, it's appropriate to reverse a pardon? I understand that all Bush has left in his administration are third-stringers and n00b resume-padders, but that's incompetent even by his miserable standards.

Because his father just made a twenty thousand dollar donation to the Republicans? Finally you progressives have something to really and genuinely bash the Bush clown about, since you can't bash him for his progressivism. I suspect the lib media won't pursue it because they will want to protect Bush's reputation. They can help Impeachie Boy's reputation regarding Marc Rich though by covering this so maybe they will cover it. We'll see.

Bush yanked the pardon because the political contributions might make Bush look bad...

The fact that he was pardoning a guy who'd committed mortgage loan fraud on a massive scale, and screwed hundreds out of their savings, destroying their credit and leaving some of them homeless.......that didn't embarrass Bush at all.

The entire story is a microcosm for the entire Bush Administration really.

He's down to his last month in office, and he still somehow managed to shoot himself in the foot, again.

Sure, he should have made certain who he was pardoning before he pardoned him - but once granted, an honorable man would have taken the political lumps and let the pardon stand. After all, it's not like he has a legacy to protect - unless you call 8 years of tax cuts and farkups a legacy...

If he asked for the money back, then it's provable that he was looking for a quid pro quo when he donated and that's a felony -- see the Blagojevich affair.

Lionel Mandrake: So he already served his time? This is just one of those pardons to clear his record or something?

Almost ALL presidential pardons are given after the pardonee serves his time. They are not usually given until five years after the end of the time served in fact.

Quote: "Under the Department's rules governing petitions for executive clemency, 28 C.F.R. §§ 1.1 et seq., a minimum waiting period of five years after completion of sentence is required before anyone convicted of a federal offense becomes eligible to apply for a presidential pardon."

Really. REALLY? The one part of the presidency where you can be a bit of a crook; you can't possibly screw it up. People expect you to make bullshiat pardons. And yet, you find a way to step up the bullshiat to a whole new level.

P.S. Getting that particular piece of news has to be in some sort of top ten list of crappy pieces of news to get:

1. You have 6 months to live
2. The President was just farking with you about that pardon
3. You have 12 months to live
4. I used to be a dude
5. I'm still a dude

By the way, I sometimes wonder if 1. and 3. should be switched. thoughts?

Oh, look... a butterfly!

This kind of non-sensical hate will be recycled. Thanks for letting me quote it and thanks for posting nothing verifiable and factual...you know, just your hatefulness! This kind of hate is easy to piss on and use against small-minded people such as yourself. Democrats like you make the special prosecutors of the world go round and round.

It's really common for people pardoned or those related to them to be heavy (financial) supporters of a President or his party. When they say "it looks bad" they are just referring to the fact that someone pointed it out.

You must know what new information came to light that made the president reconsider his pardon.

Would you mind sharing that information with us all?

If not, it would kind of look like you're just defending the president, well, you know, blindly - and I'm sure that you must have good solid information with which to base your assertions on. After all, nobody would jump to a conclusion (kneejerk) and defend someone without knowing the facts, would they?

/Feel free to call this a troll, if you can't answer the accusation.

It looks bad to give a donation to a political party and then receive a favor from that parties top official shortly thereafter.

It looks allot worse to have received said pardon, have it retracted, and then get a refund check in the mail.

You're quite welcome. Hate? Oh yes! The only problem with that word is it is too mild for how I really feel. I hope when he dies they bury him in a block of solid concrete. Otherwise, he will be Cromwelled. Even If I have to do it myself. That man has done more harm to this country than anyone else in the 34 years I have been on this flying mudball we call Earth. His legacy will be one of scorn and derision. You want facts? Well, his action are a matter of public record.
