I'm big in Germany. I'm pretty much the David Hasselhoff of Fark, without the rampant alcoholism.

I ain't happy,
I'm feeling glad

But not for long
The future is coming on

You know, it's interesting how those lyrics don't sound quite as stupid sung as they look written down.

Gorillaz were around well before MySpace.

Tom gets no credit for this one, it was all Damon Albarn.

true...but she was just a porn star prior to MySpace and nowhere near as well known as Gorillaz. I still haven't heard any of her "music" on the radio or her "clothing" in any stores or on any "people".

Hellz yeah, Gorillaz actually is a really good band, but I'm pretty sure this whole thread doens't matter, since, as far as I know, the band no longer exists. I DRTFA though.

...and yes, they are totally my "friend" on myspace. Shut up:P

I am pretty sure this only mentions British artists, so it's probably likely that some musically superior artist, like Nickelback, Linkin Park, or Lil Wayne is actually the most popular.

USA! USA! Well, and Canada.

Last time I checked, they were planning a new album. So there is hope.

I'm pretty sure most lyrics sound stupid on their own, without music to accompany them. That's why they're lyrics.

The awesome thing about art is that its interpretive.

That fact aside, they write some of the catchiest shiat ever. And music can be enjoyed on many levels, even if its music to just... Get stupid to...

Now if only they weren't one of the biggest non-"legacy" bands in the world, that headline might actually work.

/"legacy" means your dad listened to them back when they were still cool

I've been listening to to Damon Albarn for nigh on 15 years, and am about to be a dad...

OMG the Gorillaz have a 'z' instead of an 's' and the Monkees use an extra 'e' instead of a 'y'! Parents AND their kids think it's cool to name their bands after primates but spell them wrong!

The Gorillaz are entertaining but their songs are pretty simplistic and repetitive, considering how "creative" they are supposed to be.

Lyrics suck too except for Del's. Del is the shiat.

Dear God man. Do you know what you have done? Every damned song on the face of the planet after 1996 is pretty much exactly as you have described above. Look no further than Rage Against The Machine.

And Del? Are you serious?
Please tell me you are kidding. Not only are they co-written with the Gorillaz, but have you ever heard some of his stuff?

Perhpas my sarcasometer is in need of calibration, but are you suggesting that Del isn't one of hip-hop's best MCs? Are you serious?
