Huffington herself is pretty boring, not terribly bright, and pretty self serving.

But as a news aggregate, it sends me to a lot of places I wouldn't haven even known existed.

It's always clear to me where the content comes from, and who should get credit. Tho, I'm surprised they don't coordinate with their content providers?!

But then I don't make a living off advertising. However, from a consumer's point of view, The Huffington Post is a good aggregate -- if its name sake isn't all that interesting and its posters bad parodies of fark trolls.

In other news people use others information on the web to develop content for their own sites. They then might even link to the site the information was taken from. With all this linking of information someone should come up with catchy name for it like a web. I am going to copyright that before one of you Farkers post it on your site.

Probably because Daily Kos's stated goal has always been to get as many Democrats elected to office as possible.

and it sets a good mold, technically speaking, for online news. it autorefreshes every few minutes, has a nice layout, and doesn't shy away from or make it hard to access video sources when available.

FTFA:

"The headlines on The Huffington Post, he points out, link to the outside site, not to The Huffington Post page with the two to three paragraph excerpt of the other site's copyrighted story. That page is accessible via the comment and "Quick Read" links, and serves as the "anchor" page for comments or for follow-up reporting by The Huffington Post staff."

Huff should charge $5 per month AND run ads down the right-hand side. She could also get a sponsor for one of her sub-pages. Maybe a tech start-up guide or something . . . .

Seriously kids. For those of you that were under 10 while some of us were building sites for Mosaic, I would like to let you in on a secret. This was the whole farking point of the internet. Well that and to have an easy way to pass around nude pictures with celebrity faces photoshopped on them. And a way to illegally distribute software and music.

And he's doing that by linking to film reviews from the Huffingtonpost!!! His plan is more fiendishly clever than I could ever have imagined!

I just meant it was here because they are a political site, with a few other stories. Therefore, it makes sense for a story about them to fall onto the politics tab.

I actually can't stand the layout in the indexes. It simply looks like someone sneezed the news on to the screen. The auto-refresh thing is cool except for when it updates the comment counts and a thousand random yellow squares light up the page.

Geez, dude. Don't say things you can't take back.

News aggregation is one thing. Flat out stealing content is something else. It's not clear if the site is a click whore that uses politics to get attention, or if it's a political site that uses click whoring to raise money.

A website built around redistributing content? Forgive my lack of *gasp*!
